Hey RIP - You find the tickets and I'd be there. Then it's Hawaii in the mix as well.

I'm already working on Hawaii places to stay assuming it's Blaisdale (sp).

I agree. I believe AP brought something special to this band besides his incredible vocals.

Very good points, RnR and MT. I think some people are realizing (albeit very slowly!) that perhaps Jon (Cain) was serious when he said that "Arnel makes me a better guy" during the CBS interview. See

I'll definitely try and check in at some point.

However, more interesting is the Dubai connection...that location has been on my mind for some time now.

They treat us like ROYALTY over there, and it's really opening a door to MR. We let Arnel know he had many friends and supporters here. I've been surprised this week how many people have told me they've been trying for a long time to get in but can't get approved. I said it was probably just beefed up security, but would check. Ideas?

Just an update on this....several e-mails to join today - thanks folks - but I'm too tired to deal with tonight and will respond in the next 24 hours. So sit tight.

Thanks...

Interesting point, edcha, and totally by coincidence, I told the Arnel fans in that chat box yesterday that knowing them is making me a better person. Maybe there is something to this... maybe there is a reason that place has been so addictive... Hmm...

The sheer happiness exhibited by the Filipinos over Arnel's hiring has become infectious. A lot of the people in The Phillipines don't have much and this is a very big deal to them. They seem to appreciate things a lot more and I'm starting to do the same. They've made me a better person as well. And Arnel's official site is blazing. We had 106 people in the chat last night. Erik Pineda, Arnel's brother, is a great guy. I'm proud to know these people.

Dubai is on the short list for possible MelodicRockFest 2 locations. Believe it or not...

I'll spit fire if it's not close to me Sir, like in Chicago as you've always stated previously.

I'm with Moonie.

Of course :)

Nothing decided yet, but the simple fact is that there is no sponsorship money anywhere in USA. Last show cost me $50k to do and I made maybe $500!

All options open and if something can be done elewhere to ensure another US show can happen, I'll look at those options too.

I'll be on your budget committee.

I get the impression that most of them would turn up too see ANY band - but hey - if rock gets the market cornered then great....must be a mix of tourists, working families out there on temp contracts and enthusiastic locals.....- with nothing much else to spend the tax free bucks on.....

Just sort of watched a documentary on Dubai and how the Sheik treats his government like a business. The issue of cheap south asain labor was brought up, and he said they've dealing with that and have enacted laws to fight it. Also interesting is how western-ized that area has become - modern buildings, cell phones, alcohol, treating women better, US Navy dock, etc., when in fact they're big allies of Iran. I often wonder how they escape the threat of extremist terrorism. I mean, if al-Qaeda hates us so much, why do they allow neighboring countries to be like us?

Food for thot.
