You have NOTHING to worry about. Cain is NOT a homosexual.

No offense to AP by the way..he's proven he can stand on his own, but he wouldn't be there if he wasn't Perry light. Period.
Categorically incorrect. With the exception of Like A Sunshower there isn't one other song on Revelation that anyone would confuse as being Steve Perry!!! The fact that Arnel can sing and sound like Perry is a credit to him and in no way makes him a "clone." It makes him an amazing singer that is able to sound like quite a few artists...listen to his youtubes; he can sound like Bryan Adams, Jimi Jamison and a whole bunch of other singers. Arnel sounds like Arnel on Revelation.
They play 3, maybe 4 Rev songs on tour. They are not selling out because he can sound like Bryan Adams. Put out an advertisement that says their upcoming shows will not include any of the classic Journey catalogue, then talk to me about who how important it is that he has his own 'voice' when you are one of about 25 people sitting in the audience. Your analogy is the equivalent of me saying that Steve Perry's tour would have had 25 people in the audience had he NOT had musicians playing the parts of Schon, Cain, Valory and Smith!!! You replace missing players the best you can, but to insinuate that Arnel was home in The Phillipines practicing his best Steve Perry for the last 25 years is ridiculous. "Clone" basically means identical and I have yet to see Arnel try and sound identical to Steve Perry. He has the same range and is a soaring alto tenor, but that's about it!

You make good points. But by 'clone', you know as well as I do that I'm talking about the ability to sing the catalog to the degree that the audience feels it as close to the recorded material as possible, given it is a different singer with his own natural style. Never taken anything away from AP.

"Permenent"meant that he was the lead singer until further notice. Sorry that the "further notice" didn't jive with your timeline, but I think with the record sales and sellout crowds it's quite obvious that the band made the right decision. Here is the applicable defintion of permanent: "intended to exist or function for a long, indefinite period without regard to unforeseeable conditions." Unforeseeable conditions obviously arose...namely, the band didn't sound like Journey anymore!!! Permanent is the opposite of temporary and they wanted to lift that tag for Soto. At the very least, he gets to say he was the lead singer for Journey for a year. That's quite an accolade.

There are definitely some "Perryesque" moments in Where Did I Lose Your Love, as well. In my opinion, the untrained ear (casual fan) would barely notice the difference. As a matter of fact, on the re-records, if WE, the diehards didn't know better, Anyway You Want It and Who's Cryin' Now are so spot on damn near Perry perfect, it's fuckin' scary.

BT: It’s my understanding that you found your new lead singer Arnel Pineda, then living in the Philippines, through the help of technology.
JC: ...]We needed to find someone who was going to take us into the next 10 years.
We didn’t want a Steve Perry clone or a tribute band singer
