Only was able to listen to it once through, but Wow! Damn good. Didn't need the Jessie's Girl Bonus track though. I've moved on. :)

This is a great CD.

It's got a great energy and sounds happier than S/D/A/A. I think he saved the "Acceptance" portion for this album.

This whole campaign he is on about it being the best album since Working Class Dog is crazy. Most all of his albums are better than that one. I think they have been better each time out, though Rock of Life is the standard bearer to me and I hated the covers album. Hate is a strong word - I never got into it at all.

I really feel like Karma, S/D/A/A, and this new Venus in Overdrive disc all complement each other. It would be a great 3-disc set.

Again - What's Victoria's Secret has the whole Jessie's Girl guitar parts and that's enough of a tip to the past. I really felt like doing the acoustic version of Jessie's Girl was too much of a step back to the past. I think something more fitting would maybe be a continuation of the story of Jessie and the girl in a new, updated sound. That is if he had to acknowledge the song 25 years later in the first place.

With the CD, you are able to download another bonus track, "Who Killed Rock and Roll". It rocks and is a nice add. There is another i-Tunes only song that I did not get yet.

There is some variety here too. Some folky stuff that seems to work. I normally hate that stuff.

agree.

I think its the best since ROL. I loved what he did on TAO & ROL.

I think whats victoria's secret is good, but I dont feel it being the lead track and a clone of jess girl was a good thing. the rest of the album stands on its own and is FANTASTIC!!!!!!

I think 3 Warning Shots or VIO should have been the first released single. brilliant tunes!!!!

no thanks to the US release. I ordered the UK release in a jewel case and with the bonus Track WKRR. I think WKRR should have been the lead track in place of Victorias secret or it left off all together. I heard thought was WKRR didnt really fit on the album. I think they are wrong and think that would have set the tone for the whole album.

WKRR
VIO
3 Warning shots

and then go from there with the track listing.

I think the UK release is as best it gets!!!!! Thanks Andrew!!!!

also.... I think the name of the album being WKRR would have been great.

its a great tune to tip a hat to todays "so called" pop music.

I love it too. I don't have most of his CD's, except for a GH, so I'm gonna go back and get a couple of those as well.

What I've heard of it is indeed very, very good...

Out of all of his albums, my favorite front-to-back album of his is Karma.

WKRR is awesome. I'll download that one from itunes. Or just get the European release too. :)

I disagree about the acoustic Jessie's girl. It's hot.

Rick's a rocker, thank goodness.

The Best Buy version is a digipak.

Is it only the Best Buy version that has acoustic version...

Postby ttango1 » Sat Aug 09, 2008 12:03 pm

of Jessie's Girl?

I got mine ordered day 1 from Amazon because Rick asked his fans to do that to help him chart his album.

This album is a solid listen.

Did I ever tell you that in high school I dresssed like Rick Springfield and was the spitting image of the guy. I was the shit!

So when he came to town in 1984 I went to the concert to pick up chics, never landed even a hello, they were all mesmerized by Rick!!

I stayed after the concert to kick his ass, when he came out I couldn't do it, so I gave him a hug instead, then stole the bastards wallet and ran.

Guy only had three bucks in it and a used condom.................judas priest!
