What a mean spirited thing to say.

Agreed. Of all the things to decide to have an opinion on.

My opinion is as valid as yours or anybody else who posts on this forum. There's nothing mean spirited about saying the dude has to quit talking half the day and take care of his voice. He is on a tour with two other bands. This isn't just about Journey. There is a bigger picture, so he needs to sort his priorities, if this is the big dream for him that he says it is. There....is that more BT-ish for ya?  Sheesh, kids these days.

How the hell do you know how much he is talking? Have you ever called someone just to hear their voice? It's one thing to break down every single thing someone does on stage or in the studio, or publicly..but to judge him because he wants to be in contact with his family? You gotta lota nerve.

I think this is the inherent problem with any message board dedicated to a single topic -- that topic gets rehashed, regurgitated, over-analyzed and examined from every conceivable orifice, and in the process people forget which things are important for us to be concerned about and which are not. The exact reason I create so many OT threads -- I can't cross that line to keep a topic fresh, so I cleanse the palate by talking about something else for a while.

Then you have the drama addicts who expect everything to play out like the tabloids or a soap opera. Starts with the hook-up rumors, then the confirmation, soon followed by the questions about "is there trouble in paradise" and all the breakup rumors. Rampant speculation becomes the order of the day.

The Internet has greatly exacerbated this problem -- we have too much access to info that doesn't concern us, and everyone is a critic now. No wonder Arnel wants to talk to his family so often with this kinda pressure.

I have one BIG question. How do you guys, especially Rip, seem to know, so much of the time, when Arnel is on, chatting?

You just hang in the chat for 16 hours a day....odds, man...odds. But seriously, he is generally on between 11 am and 3 pm CDT.

Saint John is right on -- neither of us has any inside info. We are just addicts who never leave the joint.... haha! I created the thread yesterday to help anyone who hasn't had a chance to chat w/Arnel got one. Just spreading the love... :)

I leave the window minimized for the most part but leave the sound on, and when it starts to sound like the streets of L.A. on a late Friday night I know Arnel is on.

LOL, and neither am I in there constantly, but with my computer setup it makes it easy to stay logged in while I'm doing other things. For the record, I've only lucked into being in the Shout Box at the same time as Arnel twice.

I agree with most of this (except for the suck it up part). Cut back. Use email, etc. Plus, that has to be expensive. He's spending his salary on his phone bill. Cut back.

That's what I'm sayin' for God's sake. You guys have forgotten pretty quick what happened to Augeri. Maybe if he would have taken better care of himself, done less meet & greets, maybe talked less during the day, etc., he wouldn't have had to go to tape. But yeah, suck it up, and get over whatever is preventing him from good health. A cutback on the meet & greets was a start, but not enough if he is still sick. Maybe dude IS using e-mail. If so, that was lost in translation!

since some of you had already registered and visited AP's site, why don't you ask him a favor to sing TDTWT. some of the concert goers that hasn't bought Revelation doesn't know about this great song. I'm pretty sure this would be a radio hit, if given the chance to be played on the air on a constant basis. and a good way of really helping out the Revelation album. this song has come close to that of WYLAW (though the orchestration of this one is far unmatched).

You are right about TDTWT being a "contender"( for hit status), great song...both vocally and, on of the few songs where the piano really stands out in the melody...I cannot get it out of my mind every time I listen to it! Nice work, there, Jon Cain! :D
Also, Rip or anyone, I signed in for Arnel's site, and have tried to post a message in the shout box, but cannot find where to press "send" to make it go INTO the box! What am I doing wrong (after all these years, lol!) on the computer?
I am going to the Jones Beach, NY concert on Thurs. 8/14. Anyone else? I hope we don't get thunderstorms..there have been so many this summer!

Journey on...
