I thought that referred to Revelation covers. My mistake. 8)

Great clips SJ, hadn't seen WOM & Anytime before. Actually not too bad (til you hear Perry's silky smoothness).

Ha, at 3:02 Perry says Cmon! and it sounds like AP. :D

The great St. John doesn't get it? How shocking! LOL! I get it. Since Wal-Mart asked for the re-records, they think, why not do it again with the Japanese bonus track! That way, they don't have to work on a new, decent song. Lazy fuckers. So much for preserving their legacy.

10 more years of this shit? I do hope all of you are happy. What you see Journey doing now, is what possibly they will be doing 10 years from now. Either recycling songs with new lead singers, or putting out not so great songs. :D

I dunno, they've toured in Japan so they saw the fans' reaction on all the songs. I am sure fans wrote to them and they listened to what they were saying. Perhaps the Japanese love that song?

I don't get it....if they write and record a new song, people complain that Japan gets a new song and people in the US don't. If they re-record something, people complain that they are re-recording something and are too lazy to record a new track--which people would complain about it not being released in the US. Sounds like they can't win either way.

Dave,

You're right, White Lion kicks ass. Vito is one of the best guitarist to walk the planet.

White Lion's "Pride" album is one of the best hard rock albums of all time.

His playing on that album is superb, especially the highly underrated "Lady of the Valley". Talk about a kick-ass metal tune. His simplistic, yet beautifully melodic solo in "When the Children Cry" is one of my all time favorites.

Yeah, that's how I got the TBF Japanese track. I already owned TBF, and the Kitten Puncher went and ninja'd that song onto the reissue, so I jacked it fo' free. I already owned 2 Escapes, 2 RORs and 2 mothereffing Street Talks. Kitten Puncher gots enough of my money.

I agree. "The Place in Your Heart" was fine on "Generations". But .... if they can do a good re-record, I want to hear it. I wasn't impressed with the re-record of "Faith in the Heartland" though. (There were only three re-records I didn't like: "Separate Ways", "Faithfully", and FITH.)

The original TPIYH was very good -- good energy, good rocker, I liked it. Thought it was the best song on "Generations" (and that FITH was second.) Glad to hear that it's going onto the Japanese edition of "Revelation".

What song is WAFTE?

Walking Away From The Edge...another horrid song.

Ah from Red13. That explains why I didn't know what it was...

You mean you aren't an owner of one of the 17 copies out there?

I actually bought it online the day Journey released it on their site exclusively... and still listen to it pretty regularly. They need to put some of those songs back in the live set, especially State Of Grace.

And next time they decide to do some more re-records (and you know they will), they should do some stuff off of Trial By Fire, and maybe rock-ify some of ROR material. Just please, no rerecords of anything off of the first 3 albums... I don't think I could take Jon trying to Redo any of the Rolie stuff, unless it was something from the Rolie-Perry era.

Well I was thinking that maybe they were just giving Steve A songwriting credit on the new CD to get him some extra $$$ and to try and make up for the way he was "let go". I thought for sure PIYH was also co written by him, but I guess I was wrong.

Still would be cool to hear Arnel sing some of the Arrival stuff and put his fingerprint on it..

I'll be in Japan at about the time this album is released there. I'll be watching it closely cause I'm very curious to see how well it does over there. But this is a really bad time to release anything in Japan right now because the economy over there is about to completely crash. They are now more concerned with paying for gas and food, rather then entertainment of virtually any type right now.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.
