I'd start with Just a Game and then move on to the others. Production didn't seem the best on this album, but it's still my favorite. They were unbelievable in concert. I wish they'd do a full tour.

If you find out who the asshole is, it might ruin it for you...just like the overinformation on Journey. Once you bore down to the personalities, you're screwed as a fan of the music. I'd just enjoy the music. But hey, that's just me.

Hey Mike...I've seen some of your other "top album or artist" listings on other threads and we have unbelievably close tastes. Two of us out there is pretty scary shit.

Hold On remains as one of my all-time favorite songs...and...then...Me and Johnnie Walker, and the comfort that he brings... Rock on.

back in the late 80's when i was in high school a kid was desperate to make money so he was selling some of his cassettes and one of them that caught my eye was just a game so i spent my lunch money that day to buy it and never regreted it.my brother had thunder seven at the time but i never listened to it so after i got into triumph with just a game i went back and listened to his cassette.my main two i guess would be just a game and allied forces.i like 'world of fantasy' off never surrender also.i even bought stages on cassette back in the day so i'll have to go back and listen to it because i think they put a couple new tracks on there that i never really listened to at the time.

the band broke up because of typical jealousy, the record company was pushing for rik to sing more, and gil less.
and according to an unnamed source(3 letter first mane) gil and the produce made some underhanded changes to songs already cut, and that was the end
i didnt think they would ever get back cant wait to see aa full 2 hour show from these guys.

can you point me somewhere it says they are back together? Rik was adamant on staying solo and said the band was better off not reuniting and did not see it happening.

Awesome! I'd love to see them live! I'm really digging the song "Never say Never". Awesome song. They have so many cool hooks and riffs! I just wish I would have learned about them sooner.

Do they have any live or MTV dvd's? I'd love to nab one and check them out. Let me know if anyone here knows, and thanks again for all the info. I'm going shopping in 2 days!

I'm going to have to pick that one up if I can find it! That's actually the only song that I knew was from Triumph. I heard it on Hugo's album, and loved it! He really did a great job on that tune. Gotta mention it though...WTF was Rick wearing in that video? It looked like he had just broke out of a french prison with that outfit!

I just checked out "Somebody's out There", and love it! I remember hearing it years ago, and may have even played it in an 80's rock band. I can't remember. I've played so many songs over the years.

not the "sound" I was talking about the beat, the melody, the arrangement whatever was highly variable from the day. I know they like to mix it up but wow! That is bad! Expecting the song to flow like the song was written.

Yeah, they did sound rusty but it might take awhile for them to get back in the groove.

I'll tell all of you motherfuckers something...I HATE Canadians (per se), but Rik Emmett blew the roof of the house when he was at Peterik's show and this fucking tour next year is NOT to be missed. These are very talented individuals who have put aside HUGE differences and I'll guarantee they have a tour for the ages. These guys ROCK!!!

G.I.Jim wrote:Damn you Triumph! Somehow in my 36 year existence I've never really heard Triumph. After hearing them tonight (on Youtube of course) I'm going to be broke as hell after buying all of their albums!!!  I've heard the name a hundred times, but didn't really know any of their songs. After checking them out on Youtube, I now realize that they have a lot of kick-ass tunes.... I MUST hear their entire library now! :x

Are any of you fans? If so, tell me what your favorite album is. Normally when I stumble on a band like this, I make it a point to buy the whole list of their albums. I haven't done any digging on the band yet, so I don't even know how many albums they have. I'm just excited because I found a "New" band to check out. I hope their stuff is as good as what I'm lead to believe...

I look forward to any insight of the band from any of you fans in here! How long were they together? Are they still doing anything? If not, who was the asshole in the band? Can't wait to dig deeper...

Didn't know there's a band called Triumph either. The only Triumph in my memory bank still gives me the shivers when I think about it, I'm talking cars, Triumph TR sumthing to be exact. Ended up walking miles to the nearest freeway on/off ramp in the dead of winter, in the middle of the night because of it. This was pre cell phone era folks, you had to walk to the nearest phone booth or gas station for help.
