Anyone met Luke before?

Postby Ehwmatt » Sat Aug 16, 2008 1:04 am

Figured I'd post this here since the Toto board is pretty dead right now and Luke's a a hot topic right now.

I'm going to see Luke next Friday at a very intimate venue - we're talking a bar that can fit MAYBE 75 people, possibly less. I'd be shocked if he wasn't doing meet n greet after the show. Is Luke a cool guy to meet? Would he be willing to sign a CD or two and perhaps even a guitar? If nothing else I'd love to shake the guy's hand. Anyone have any Luke tales?

I've met him a few times and he was always very giving and friendly. Funny guy. It was always in venues like the one you are mentioning and he always seems to hang out after. Not sure if that has changed at all.

I almost did at NAMM 2006 in the Ernie Ball booth. I was buying a cd from a young guitar player, Patrick DeCoste, who had contacted me via myspace. He said, that's Steve Luthaker. would you rather visit with him?

of course, I couldn't do that. but I heard that Steve L. is very friendly and kinda chatty. give it a go and then tell us what he says! :D and how he sounds!

Met Lukather and the rest of the band at the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival a few years back...I was there to see my friend Paul Rodgers and his band play.

He and all of the other Toto guys were very nice.

I've got a few tales...but he'd shoot me for telling. The last of which was in the bar of the Melbourne Hilton 4am in March. I'll see if I can get the photo off my cell phone :)

met him alot, he always was cool. In 2001 he didn't want to take a photo with me...A friend really got pissed off and called him an Ahole but it didn't bother me. I'm not sure what was up that night, because otherwise he was cool. Wierd. It didn't bother me.
