Besides the opening ceromony I don't really watch it. The last great olympics was the winter games in 1980. After we boycotted the Moscow games that summer and it became political, it's never been the same.

He also made a comment that if there were 8 events back in his day, he would have won 8 golds too. I think he must have taken a lot of heat for being such a pompous ass because he has been nothing but gracious and singing praise for Phelps now.

Yeah I noticed that too. I just saw him this morning on Fox and Friends and he was very gracious. He even laughed over the pic of Phelps with all the medals around his neck because it was the same as the one taken of him in '72.

Some of the fireworks have been revealed to be computer enhanced. And they used a cute 9-yr old girl to dangle up on the wire, lip-synching to the singing of a "hidden" 7-yr old's voice. Everything else, including the live performances of 11,000 Chinese performers sychronized to perfection, are real.
