THANK you. I belong to both plus one other that's had some "issues" with MR and its members, and I post fairly and with no involvement of other boards or clashing with members. Ummm... can't we all just get along?

You can't really complain about people Journey slamming when in the last sentence you threw a swipe at Perry. That basically lost you some credibility.

I agree! Geez people who live in glass houses should not throw stones! I would like to leave it, with they are all good musicians, some I like better than others, but I show respect to all. I cannot and will not change the attitudes of some who are angry and vent in any forum. Trust me you cannot control anyone else but yourself. I understand you like Arnel and are frustrated. He is a nice man from what I gather, and has a great voice. I personally like him, but I esteem Perry higher. Personal preference. You won't make points to anyone about slamming an artist if you do so yourself.

And I don't think it's right to come here to complain about another forum. Andrew has said many times he doesn't want any forum wars.

Agree with this. The people that post over at WTF are what they are. Some seem to take the negativity further than others, but the same thing can be said over here. If you don't like it, just stay away from there. You aren't going to change them, just like they aren't going to change your way of thinking regarding AP or the band. I think they make it pretty well known that the WTF board is a much more 'say what you want and who cares if it pisses people off' environment, so you really shouldn't be surprised.

My style is not to insult anyone or belittle them ... The whole pont of the post, which seems lost on people, is that I was trying to defend this incarnation, in particular, of the band, and I was stating that I was AGAINST all of the CONSTANT negativity over there which never seems to go away ...

I also stated that I've been a fan for 22+ years, and have enjoyed, been a fan of, and seen all incarnations of the band - SP, SA, JSS ... so its all good, so to speak ...

So if people feel the need to attack me for having an opinion, so be it ... I don't really freaking care anyway ...

I totally agree with this post. I can see where Michael is coming from to a degree though too, but somebody's negativity is out of your control. If somebody wants to wallow in negativity it's their issue, shouldn't be any skin off your a$$. You're not going to change anything, so just ignore it.

Ha, I get a kick out of people needing to start threads every so often lamenting on how other fans are picking on poor Arnel and Journey. I mean, c'mon, it's no secret there are forums that take it to the extreme one side or the other (such as WTF and the J official site). I don't visit these places ... can't stomache the ugliness ... or the strawberry & cream praise singing. If you do visit those places, why complain about it over here? Go do your battle (or join the choir) over there.

And, no, it's not true everybody loves SP. There are many (relatively speaking) that can't stand him and take every opportunity to belittle and marginalize his accomplishments. Every bandmember that has ever been significant has gone through the bashing (with the exception of GRolie and Smitty). Kind of like what Arnel is going through now. So, why should he be exempt (shield) from this treatment?

Welcome to posting on Internet Boards 101. Your first attempt didn't go swimmingly. No biggie. I'm surprised given your obvious lurking for however long that you thought you would get some other type of response, whether you were posting it here, WTF, Annex or anywhere else. There are so many vicious fights and attacks around here over the past few years, that it doesn't matter whether Lora or others like me or don't like me ...

All I was trying to do was to suggest that we get things back to center more closely around the music, rather than the personalities, or the personnel decisions involved ... Not going to do anyone any good, and we're all here because at some point, we were fans of the music, first and foremost ....

Unfortunately, people take the intent, and dissect it, and focus on the micro, rather than the macro .... oh well, I can't control that ...

Also, you can not expect WTF to silence people for casting their opinions. There will be those who will hate Arnel as well as those who love him and everyone is welcome there to discuss their opinions with eachother there.
That said, it doesnt mean that we allow ANYTHING and everything over there. We have moderators that make sure, that while you have the FREEDOM, you also use the WISDOM and TRUTH to get your points across.
If you have any problems with any posts or any negativity THERE, you come over there and discuss it and share your opinion with us.
Bringing it here will only add more fuel to the fire and wont solve a thing..... Believe me we've all seen it before,,, back when people would copy and paste stuff from BT to MR and vice versa, it was a MESS.........
You can not expect everyone to praise Journey. If you want a place where Journey is always seen as the good guys, start off by their official forum and dont count on WTF..... WTF isnt even about JOURNEY.....Its about a community for people with freedom to speak out their mind. No connection to MR or Journey.

I don't see it as much of a lost that Andrew didn't get an interview with this current lineup of Journey, he's had plenty of other informative moments with the band. The Wombat only needs one more guest to complete the circle and we all know who that is.
