I don't see it as much of a lost that Andrew didn't get an interview with this current lineup of Journey, he's had plenty of other informative moments with the band. The Wombat only needs one more guest to complete the circle and we all know who that is.

Who are we talking about? I have it narrowed down to Howie Simon and Gary Schutt.

As previously stated, (er... by me) his full name is now Steve Motherfuckin' Perry. (and if it's not legally, it should be) As in... "Look!! Over by the Starbucks condiment counter... that's Steve Motherfuckin' Perry!!!"

There was a time where just "Steve Perry" was sufficient in conveying his full awesomeness, but he's so legendary that now, "Steve Perry" is actually synonomous with "awesome", so the proper reference for the man himself had to be improved. Feel free to use SMP for short.

PS! Andrew tried his best to keep this place a PRO-Journey forum and got shit on by the band.

But not soon enough. The band did not shit on him.

Seems to me Wombat's rules were intended to squelch the ad hominem loops that developed daily in multiple threads and dragged the whole forum down.

It's not negativity toward the band but the attacks on people (and their body parts) rather than against their logic that are problematic.

I was merely trying to point out the hypocrisy, as people let past behaviors go with every other lead singer prior, and I was only trying to suggest that people let the issues from June, 2007 with JSS go already - he has moved on, but they can't seem to let things go over there and constantly seem to refer to Journey's "behavior" as a band, even though we're not privy to their business decisions ...

Anyone making comments like that has NOT moved on and has no place berating others for not moving or for feeling negatively toward the band as people. As musicians, they're great and I enjoy that. That's their job. As PEOPLE I don't have to like them and I DON'T have to respect the way they've treated ALL of their past lead singers.

Maybe when I stop hearing about how Perry is responsible for god damn every wrong thing under the sun, I'll look into letting Pinky and the Brain slide on some of their douchebaggery. Until then, I'm happy to spin the discs and ignore the drama (until it comes up here that is, lol!).

BJG, as a friend of mine pointed out to me recently when I was on a similar rant, "If you'd just stop expecting people to be consistent, you'd be a lot happier."

tearing down others to build your favorite up.... it's gone on forever. to the original post, it's fine to like what you like, no need to belittle anyone in the process. bashing will never stop, but complaining about it and doing the same in a sense only perpetuates the cycle. you wanna blame perry or slam jss' talents go ahead, but don't expect others to sit by and be silent. we all know the nature of the message board, "but that's not what i meant" defense can work, but only when sincere.

That is independent of everything else. He did not give them a good grade just because or to to get in their good graces. He gave them a 97 because it was a good CD, regardless what has gone on and what will go on in the future.

Apples and oranges. What happened 2 years ago has nothing to do with today. Also, most of blasting was toward Augeri...a FORMER member or soon to be former member. The blasting now is towards the CURRENT lineup and members. Plus, they don't have to grant Andrew's every interview request. They are getting enough press in more mainstream places right now (People, CNN, the other mag (GQ?), and newspapers). I have a feeling there will be a Journey/Andrew interview in due time, maybe a year or later. But it will happen.

Although I disagree with you on the cd, I think Andrew rated it what he did because he thought it was a good cd. I'm not a major Journey fan anymore, but I would rate it very good also, it IS a good cd. I wouldn't have given it quite a 97%, that is just too close to the 99% that TMG got and the TMG cd trumps it in every way.
