Yeah, it's going to be a matter of the lesser of two evils or none of the above for me. Obama's inexperience is scary and McCain's senility is scary.

No. Everyone has the option of writing in anyone they want on election day. Usually, it is just a waste of your vote or is often done to protest the choice of candidates offered.

OK. All the while I thought there are simply check boxes opposite the names of legitimate candidates in the ballot...and no blank spaces for "others."

Thanks. So I'm not the only one undecided/unsure about this stuff! :)
Do you plan to follow GB's and S78's advise to wait till next election to cast your vote, then? :wink:

Nope, I'll vote, but I'm just not sure which ticket my hand will punch just yet. There's still a lot of campaigning to go and skeletons to reveal just yet. :lol:

That's what I'm talking about. Have a clear grasp of how the system works before you vote. Me and 78 are voting but if you're going to participate edcha, make sure you understand the whole process, not just the candidates. You might want to wait til next time rather then cast a vote when you're still shakey about how the whole system works. But there's still time. Read up on it so you can vote with confidence.

Noted. I always read, watch the news, and talk to people. This thread is just one simple attempt at "talking to people" about this topic. I'm confident I'll be thoroughly informed before election day! :wink:

Any argument you get ITT is going to be really biased. Maybe most people here lean a certain way, then you won't get a real picture of the situation at all. Better start out voting by doing it right, or don't vote at all.

Hi, MG!
That's what I call team or "MR family"play! Thanks for the good info!
I agree it's simple...it's just that I had not paid any attention to it in the past;
'coz I didn't have any compelling reason to understand it at that the time.
