You'll all be happy to hear that Rhi made it safe and is enjoying her birthday down south.

She spent the morning in an urgent sitcom style wild goose chase of a FedEx truck to fix an even more urgent DMV situation, just to give you an idea. :lol:

Its a pretty great story though.... can't wait for you all to hear it. She's a walking episode of "Laverne & Shirely" sometimes, I swear. :lol:

FINALLY "HOME"....

I've learned a valuable lesson this weekend... the city has changed me. Good and bad. I'm driving 85 down Kentucky's AA highway cussing like hell at what I am now calling "stupid hillbillies" when I know damn good and well I have a little stupid hillbilly blood in me. :lol:

And... yes, so far 23 has been amaze. The FedEx/DMV story...

So one of the main points of me going to VA this weekend was to tag and register my new car (VA tags means cops less likely to pull me over, plus about 25% of the cost of having the car in IL). I got into town Friday morning and after breakfast with my mom I went to the DMV... only to realize when I got in there that I was sans title. I and the people who sold me the car had forgot it. :shock:

There was nothing I could do to make my car legal and my IL drive away permit expired the next day. Frantically calling the car lot, I got my information to the girl to overnight me the title and made her promise I'd have a morning delivery.

I woke up with a fabulous headache from one too many Coke & Whiskeys the night before and got up to check and see if the thing had arrived since it was about 10am. Wrong. After a call to FedEx, they told me the area I was in didn't have morning delivery and had just started running stuff up there at all on Saturdays only a few weeks before. Oy... I missed Chicago already. Around 11:30 I gave up hope that he'd get there in time, with the DMV closing at 12 so I decided to run to the bank.

This next part could ONLY ever happen in a small town... I'm coming back through town and I look in the rear view mirror and see nothing other than a FedEx van!!! But, by this time it's 11:45 and I had no clue what to do... so I manage to ninja behind the van at a stoplight and followed him to his next stop at the Food City. I pull diagonal in front of him and as he gets out of the van I rush over to him and ask if he has a delivery for me.... well, small town, one van... of course he does. I pulled out of the parking lot and sped down the highway at 11:54 with the DMV 5 miles away. ...I made it. Yay! I made it at 11:58. Car is legal... Rhibaby could then relax. It wouldn't be for another two hours until I remembered it was my birthday. :oops:

Went to the Bristol race last night with my Pops... and my man Carl won the race!!

Then I spent the last 12 hours on the road. Am tired. Bigtime. Anyhow! Thanks for all the wishes and texts and calls and such!! Heart all ya'll.
