OT: Obama reportedly chooses Biden as VP candidate

I live about 10 miles from Springfield, Illinois. I went to Sam's Club there earlier today... but I couldn't see dealing with the Secret Service and 90+ degree humid midwest heat to stand amongst 35k people packed in like sardines to see Obama and Biden. I did, however, go down there when it was a cold and windy 10 degrees a year-and-a-half ago to see Obama announce his candidacy. It was pretty inspiring. People are so fucking sick and tired of the Bush bully pulpit... not just here, but all around the world.

Especially the rest of the world. His international approval rating was 14% when Reuters last polled in January. He is the most reviled President in history.

Obama is definitely favored by the world community:

I have friends who have straight up told me they would never vote for a n****r. That type of bogotry is the only thing that could possibly keep Obama from winning.

Actually, that reads 23 of 23, by my reckoning. I think you meant "vast majority". 8)

That's asinine when people are so closed minded and ignorant like that. If I hadn't gotten all cheered up reading Dano's concert review, I'd be completely pissed.

If you haven't figured it out, I'm a moderate. I don't decide who to vote for based on right or left wing issues... I vote for who I think will be best candidate to get the government back to what it should be doing.... the will of the people.

Bush and Cheney stopped doing that right after 9/11.

Do you live in a Sundown town? I didn't know people still talked like that. Do your friends live in a trailer park? They sound like the type to drink Shlitz, sitting in a beachchair under a sunbrella with a running garden hose ductaped to the top of it.

Hey if you ever want to hotbox your wife under the blanket, drink a hot Shlitz and eat a boiled egg. She'll gag for sure.

Where do you live - in the UK? A lot of people in the USA still use the N word... especially black people.

Has "the world" ever liked a Republican president? I think "the world" likes liberal politicians because they make America weaker. "The world" probably likes that. Just sayin'....

Yeah, that's the statement of an open-minded thinker. WHATEVER.

Clinton was a MUCH STRONGER President than Bush.

The rest of the world likes Democratic American presidents because they engage in diplomacy instead of pre-emptive aggression.

Now there is some intelligent discourse...

Almighty government??

You go right ahead and put your "hope" in Obama and the almighty government. I'll stick to my own God given abilities to take care of myself and my family. Of course I'll have to do with less if your dems manage to raise my taxes.

Even us goat herders understand that tax revenues exploded under Reagan. Fortunately for all of us he spent it responsibly by outspending the evil empire on defense. History will also show that the current deficits will have been useful in defeating the terrorists who want all of us dead.

I read an article today that said the dems want to move their party (and America) to the left!!!! I say go for it! What better way to usher in another 30 years of Reagan Conservatism!! :D

Right. Bait and switch. That's why no-one other than the ultra-right believes neo-conservatives anymore.

Facts are facts.

You really have no idea what you're talking about, and no ability to counter a valid argument.

Now, go dig up some potatoes and whack off on your NRA magazine.

Your reply did nothing to counter my last reply which DID counter yours quite effectively. I cant wait to hear your next Idaho insult since that is all you have........ Try and be a little more original next time please.

Oh, and I won't be responding to any more of your posts since you have nothing other than insults to offer. Bye.

Nice pick Barack!!!

Gallup Daily: No Bounce for Obama in Post-Biden TrackingMcCain creeps ahead, 46% to 44%

PRINCETON, NJ -- It's official: Barack Obama has received no bounce in voter support out of his selection of Sen. Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate.

Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Aug. 23-25, the first three-day period falling entirely after Obama's Saturday morning vice presidential announcement, shows 46% of national registered voters backing John McCain and 44% supporting Obama, not appreciably different from the previous week's standing for both candidates. This is the first time since Obama clinched the nomination in early June, though, that McCain has held any kind of advantage over Obama in Gallup Poll Daily tracking.

But you DIDN'T OFFER ANY PROOF WHATSOEVER! You just disagreed! Which is fine - but you gave NO RELEVANT INFORMATION!

Typical neo-con.

This is the same old same old. The Republicans are promising more of the same - which is horrible - and the Democrats whine and moan about it without offering any damned solutions or ideas.

I'm writing in Robert Fleischman this year.
