Skylorde wrote:What you meant to say was "The Bush Administration's trespasses on civil liberties" and to be quite honest, I have to agree with Olbermann on that point.. but it ends there. If you think for a second the left champions civil liberties then you have truly earned the moniker Melodic Rock's resident nut job.

Olbermann shrouds the diarrea flowing out of his mouth as journalism. Beck points out time and time again that he IS conservative and his "view points" (note the lack of the word NEWS) are rooted in conservative ideology. Can you say the same about Olbermann? I think not...

Until Olbermann's liberal views manifest themselves in more ways than the occasional show ending op-ed or "Worst Persons", it remains a non-issue.
When he transcends into genuinely advocating policy, like Hannity, Beck, or Limaugh, then you got a fair point.

Skylorde wrote:It'll be interesting to see if Olbermann continues his "attack on government" after Obama is elected. Considering the fact Olbermann had a virtual on-air orgasm when describing Hillary's speech to the DNC as a "Home run", my money is on Olbermann becoming one of the Obama administrations biggest cheer leaders.

Considering Olbermann was the single reporter to hold Hillary to account for her repeated use of the Bobby Kennedy analogy (while everyone else would have you believe it was a one-off gaffe), I am willing to take that wager.

Not surprisingly, I haven't seen even one mention of this on Media Matters yet.

Why would it be?
MM is a media watchdog site that corrects conservative misinformation.

If you actually watch the news, you probably already know that most primetime cable shows have been pre-empted for the convention.

They have never said that they are only entertainers. It's obvious by listening to any of those three (and I can't stand two of them) that they are not entertainers only and, even if they were to say something like that, it's obviously meant in jest only.

There are two choices here:
1 - You're a liar.
2 - You're a moron for believing this.

Glenn is a self admitted rodeo clown, former alcoholic DJ. I think he's serious -- sort of.

I love that line but it's pretty obvious he's saying that as a self-effacing way of admitting that he is not taking himself too seriously, something that most liberals don't know much about.

I have heard them all say this.
Normally it is invoked when they are called to the carpet on thier misapparopriation of the truth.
If you defer to them for anything beyond entertainment, I am truly sorry.
Though the guests sometimes have value.

Rodeo clowns would probably do a far better job of running this country :)
