God I hope not. This thing looks to be heading right for New Orleans. Maybe a tad south of it.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Sadly New Orleans may be wiped off the map with this one. I hope they have the good sense to abandon ship this time! :(

I read that a 1.9 million person evacuation is already complete.

No wonder the French sold us the state for 23 million. Every year the place loses more coastline. Are there any major resouces in Louisiana besides crawfish?

If they wait a few more years , it will end up being offshore drilling the way the coast is eroding.

Don't know about resources but they sure do refine a lot of oil there. Can you say $5 gallon

Hey Gang...

Hanging in here in Baton Rouge. Wind has definitely picked up in the last 30 minutes or so, as well as the rain.

Storm is weaker than Katrina, but we (and New Orleans) are on the "bad" (east) side of the storm. Much more rain and higher wind gusts on this side.

Just hoping to keep electricity through the night...

Make sure you have desalinization tablets, spam with the pullring top, candles and a waterproof zippo. I think you'll be fine.

The Democrats will probably get blamed for the hurricane, too.

Anyway, everyone I know is praying for our fellow Americans.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!
