You win.
Despite his admitted claims of voting with George Bush 90% of the time, clearly McCain is the original maverick.
He hasn't changed one iota.
i will admit a lot of Bush policies are the same as McCain but IMO McCain will implement those policies differently.
there is more than one way to skin a cat
Hello, everyone: This is my 1st post on this forum, and I'm too busy most of the time to post often. I'm here because my wife is a Filipina, and a fan of Arnel, of course!
I like Journey too, though I can't say I'm a "big fan." But, my wife calls me over to the computer often to see what people are posting. I see some of the most amazing
statements here, and finally decided to toss in my 2 cents worth.
So... Some more issues on which McCain differs with Bush:
Global warming. (Bush has shifted on this one recently, to be closer to McCain's position.)
Drilling in (specifically) ANWR (Palin may well change McCain's mind on this. We shall see.)
Campaign Finance Reform. (Yes, Bush signed the bill, but, he opposed it.)
Federal Funding of Stem Cell Research.
Federal Spending. (Bush likes to say he is a fiscal conservative, however, his record is anything but.)
Shall I continue?
I'd also point out that the vast majority of Senate votes are by "acclamation", and if you factor in Sen. Obama's propensity for "present" votes,
his percentage of "voting with Bush" would probably be quite alarming to many of his supporters. However, about 5% of the votes are actually
the ones that matter, so, it is those that one has to focus on.
Not many people know it, but we are actually in an "interglacial period" (a brief break) in an Ice Age.
