I performed the nail experiment with soda a few years ago. It didn't work. I'll have to try an experiment with coffee next.

I think I'm addicted to Starbucks now... and I HATE Starbucks. I like REAL coffee shop coffee. But ugh, it used to be every once in a while. Now I leave work almost every morning around 10 for a white chocolate mocha, or pumpkin spice latte, or whatever I'm craving. And then usually have one (or two) after work as well.

But I rarely drink any pop!

White Chocolate Mochas are all I order there, they're yummy, lol. They make a Peppermint one too around Christmas that's awesome too 8)

Mmm... I know. Conflict of interest now that the pumpkin spice is back on the menu. I'm a total dope when it comes to fall. (Not that I was listening to Christmas music on the way to work this morning or anything... )

We have Tim Hortons here, so I'll either get a Timmy's coffee or Starbucks if Timmy's is too busy on my way to work. I'm not into the frufru coffees (not to be confused with our buddy fufu  ). Just like a normal coffee with a splenda and a dash of milk/cream......first thing in the morning. :)

You HAVE to get it with whole milk too! (Skim milk is nasty. Yeah, I said it.) Sbux uses 2% by default, but OMG I've been getting it with whole and it is soooo amazing! And I never get decaf... EW. What's the point?

When I was heavier, I used to drink a 10-cup pot of coffee per day. No shit. I would buy a bag of starbucks coffee, like italian roast or sumatra at the supermarket....and I would make a 9-10 scoop pot of coffee (10 cups full)....just for the record, with my particular coffee maker, the 10-cup pot called for only 7-8 scoops of actual ground coffee.

Anyway, That was my cafeine intake every day.

Then, as I started losing weight, it started having nasty effects on me. At around 70 pounds lost, I was starting to feel extremely jumpy on that much coffee....however, at the time, I hadn't at all considered the coffee was to blame....because I had been able to drink the pot of coffee prior. I hadn't considered the fact that less body weight would absorb less cafeine. When I got to 100 pounds, I started having what felt like heart palpitations. Then, one day, I had to run out of the house early...and instead of making the usual pot of coffee, I stopped at starbucks and got a venti something.....while I had a headache from the withdrawal from the reduced cafeine...I *didnt* have the palpitations that day. At 140 pounds, even a single venti-sized cup of starbucks style coffee was making me feel a bit jumpy

Now adays, I drink one small mug of generic 8 oclock or D&D coffee every morning. Thats it. The starbucks stuff tends to be way too strong for me.

I'd love to totally kick coffee for good...but it's like that last vice I can't seem to shake.

Mmm but it is so good. Creamy decadent goodness. For the record, most days these are my meals. Yes, I am aware that's not good for you.

Mel... drinking butter? Ew. No. Like drinking liquid awesome. If God had wanted us to drink that white water you call "skim milk" he would've made the cows tits put it out like that! It's liquid fat & protein and such, what do you expect? :P

LOL!!!

Can't argue with that logic. Granted, I'm not so sure God intended us to drink Bovine Lactose, but we do anyway.

I know a woman that's so lactose intolerant, that she cant eat a piece of bread or cake baked with milk product....In fact, when her husband finally agreed to have children, her *husband* had to give up milk products as well, because trace lactose elements in his semen actually made her sick!!!

Incidentally, this girl can eat *anything* in any quantity (obviously, except milk products) and not gain weight...it might be an interesting study to see if someone can cut out milk, milk derivatives and milk products entirely....and see if the person loses weight.

The barista *know* me. One of them one night said "Jesus!" really loud, and I said "Shit! Where, I gotta hide the weed!" She looked at me for a moment like  and then about fell in the floor laughing.

Anyhow, no, but I will now. I used to order my macchiatos with an "assload of caramel".

I always get a kick out of how LONG some people's orders are for one drink at Starbucks, lol. That would be a funny one though instead, "Yeah I'll have a grande caramel macchiato with an assload of caramel please"

I hear that all the time.

That's even worse than when I used to order a "tall coffee in a grande cup."

That's way common here in Chicago... I heard someone in AZ do that and the cashier looked at the guy like he was mental.

A triple Venti nonfat half-caff soy latte with 1 pump mocha, 1 pump caramel, low foam, non-fat whip, steamed milk at 185 degrees, 2 packets of Splenda (shaken, not stirred), 3 drops of half & half and an extra protective sleeve.

Well you would THINK just ordering a "grande with room" would work but that's just too fucking easy, apparently.
The only time you ever get the room you want is by ordering a "tall in a grande cup". (or by asking for room, not getting it, and then pouring the top inch out into their trashcan just so you can add the milk)

I swear, one of these days I'm going to go in there and order a venti in a tall cup and just ruin their whole day.

I can not understand what the draw is to Starbucks. At work, we make our own coffee in the break rooms, and even still people go to Starbucks and spend way too much for a cup of coffee. Granted the stuff in the breakrooms could take paint off of the wall, we like it strong, and tastes like ass, but it's 1/10th the cost of that stuff at Starbucks.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

The big thing now at my job is going to Mcdonalds. It's only a half mile walk instead of the one mile to Starbucks and the coffee's a lot cheaper. Of course if you want coffee and lotto tickets then you still have to go across the street to the Arco station.
