Uhh, he was talking about handling sexual matters with young people in general when he made that comment.
Maybe if Palin facilitated such discussion with her family, her daughter wouldn't be knocked up.

Have you had to deal with this issue personally? As in with your Daughter?

Well...see this is where this line of thinking gets dicey. Its ok to second guess the president's war decisions, or who he picks for a cabinet position, and not once did someone counter with, ' Have you had to deal with this issue personally?' No who here has been president? Nobody. So are we to assume that we can't criticize the prez, or any other politician, or ANYBODy, for that matter because we've never been in their positions?

Funny thing, people go to Priests for marriage counseling....PRIESTS. They've never been married, so what do they know.

I see nothing wrong with scruntinizing Palin.

Some things are job specific. More people can relate to the challenges of raising teenagers than running the free world. I'm with you on the priest thing, though.

Teenagers are not diligent about being careful either.

So why are you piling on a guy for attempting to have an honest exchange about teens, premature sex, and what can be done to avoid undesired consequences - pregnancy being chief among them?

Piling on? I made one comment - his comment about being punished with a baby. Not everyone views it that way.

I think most of TNC's experience is theoretical.

Context is everything.
The comment came smack dab in the middle of addressing teens and sex in general.
Cut the guy a break.

How disingenuous.
On the rare occasions I do manage to get sucked into this swirling partisan vortex it is usually to contextualize something you or your ilk posted.

Last I checked, I am the guy who fact checked the Obama spam emails on here and found the quotes not only to be uncontextualized but doctored.
I’m the guy who had to post Olbermann’s full comments after you unquestioningly perpetuated the lie that he attacked our troops as "cold blooded killers".
I’m the guy who posted the transcript of Rush Limbaugh “phony soldiers” comments, showing he wasn’t referring to Jesse Macbeth when he made that remark.

Mendacity is the lifeblood of the modern Conservative movement.

Comments like this, belittling 'community organizer', are extremely hypocritical. On a day where they theme was "Country First", Obama serving his community should have been praised. Instead it was ridiculted and booed by the crowd.

I guess you can only put "Country First" if you are a Republican.

They were bagging on her service and they responded in kind.

Ah, so she's a vengevul bitch and Giuliani is an asshole for his. Makes perfect sense.

The Democrats questioning her experience level does not excuse the hypocrisy of a "Contry First" theme ridiculing the fact that their opponent did exactly that.

As I said, and you admitted, you can only put "country first" if you are a Republican.

Yep, and this just after Obama protected Palin about her unwed 17 year old daughter being pregnant.

Dude, Obama sends his campaign out to cut her down, then he makes a statement like he's taking the high ground. Don't be naive. I'm sure it goes both ways.

I'd sure like to see what you right wingers would be saying if Obama had a 17 year old unwed daughter in such a situation.

She would have an abortion. He said himself if his girls made a mistake, he wouldn't want them punished with a baby. Hell, we'd never know about it.

And, Palin said it would be her daughter's choice...

Unless, of course, she had her way with the "life begins at conception" debate. So, she really doesn't WANT it to be her choice. Hypocrit.

Of course that is the same answer McCain said 8yrs ago which had the religious right up in arms about him being for abortion rights, and, IMO, cost him the nomination.

Of course, now they excuse that comment, and Palin's. Hypocrits - all of them.

And, your hero O'Riely routinely "pinheads" the families of teenage mothers and those who say it is a family matter. Funny how that opinion suddenly changes when it is a conservative, Republican, politician's family in question. Again, it is CLEAR hypocrisy.

Well, if you can't look past a couple typos, then you obviously have listened to too much Limbaugh and can't think for yourself.

You're saying Palin defending herself from the Democrats claims is "vengevul"? What's she supposed to do come debate time?

I am saying that the entire convention mocking somebody for putting "country first" would be like saying McCain should do commercials for Hilton Hotels, "You know, I don't know much about being President, but I did stay at the Hanoi Hilton once."

It is hypcritical, and wrong...and SHOULD go against the very theme of that convention day. But, of course, you can't REALLY put "country first" unless you are a Republican.
