What am I to admit?
That Olbermann, along with numerous fired generals and the Baker-Hamilton commission, are not entitled to their own opinion?
In hopes that the blood of the fallen will now magically accrue to your party as cheap political points just in time for the election?
Filthy fucking pigs.

Your filthy vitriol points the middle finger of indignation squarely back in your direction. Conservatives must be doing something right if it makes you so angry.

As compared to the illigical, fucked up, LIBERALS in congress who had no courage to stand up against the President because it did not meet their political needs? They ALSO had a chance to end the stupidity before it began but they were too afraid of being labeled as non-patriotic, hating the military, and whatever other BS their political opposition would throw at them to win the next election.

It's not that they didn't have the courage to stand, it's that they didn't have a leg to stand on. Bush has gotten whatever he's wanted since 06 simply because it is the right thing to do. The lip service that your lib representatives are giving some of you and that some of you are buying is amazing to watch.

Bush 29% approval rating

Congress 9% approval rating

BUSH IS 3 TIMES MORE POPULAR THAN CONGRESS! {/real reporting}

And, congress is 50% Republican and was the majority for 6 of the past 8yrs. Saying he is more popular then congress does not say much for the Republican party.

The right thing to do was to finish the job we already started in Afghanistan and THEN considered options in Iraq and elsewhere. If we had done that perhaps Bush could have done more then the lip service he gave Putin for Russia's actions in Georgia.

As I have said in this forum - ANYBODY who voted for the war in Iraq should have been voted out of office.

Perhaps you should stop performing lip service for the Republicans. Better be careful, you may get somebody impeached.

No. Some people actually think Beck, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly are telling the truth when in fact they are the most egregious offenders of the right-wing "disinfotainment" industry. These self-proclaimed "dittoheads" revere their "heroes" and begrudge the left even their one symbol of broadcast equanimity in the toiling sea of hackneyed neo-conservative ignoramuses.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

If the loony left had any message worth listening to in talk radio world, it would get out there and people would be listening to it. They aren't. It's your's and the left's fault. Deal with it or shut up and support your cause rather than bellyaching and complaining about how the "dittoheads" begrudge your liberal heroes equanimity.

Total oversimplification.
Thanks to Clinton and the Telecomm act, Clear Channel bought up stations and designated them right wing, whether their ratings suck or not.

No idea what you're trying to stay.

The Telecomm Act hurt local stations and turned Clear Channel into a mini-monopoly.
Many of these right wing stations don't engage in any real competition, because every other station is carrying the exact same show.

MSNBC has tried many formats. Monica Crowley, Michael Savage,...each had a show, but they appear to have found their niche with Olbermann.
Not surprisingly, Phil Donahue's left-leaning program also used to give MSNBC its highest ratings before it was cancelled in 2003 for being anti-Iraq war.

Reminds me of a great scene in the Michael Keaton/Henry Winkler film "Night Shift"
(Going from memory)
Winkler: How'd your trip to Atlantic City go?

Keaton: I got banned for being too good a [blackjack] player.

Winkler: Really, how'd that happen?

Keaton: I caught the dealer, dealing from the bottom of the deck. I hate when they do that. So I started getting into it with the dealer, then the pit boss comes over. So I ended up throwing my drink in his fat face!
That's when they banned me for being too good a player.

Winkler: How much did you win?

Keaton: Well I was down a couple hundred, but they could tell I was good.

Okay Republicans...Let's hear how great McCain's speech was! What a freakin' snooze-fest. There must be something in the drinking water that doesn't allow any Republican politicians to be able to deliver a speech. Aside from Ronald Reagan, I'm not sure I've heard a polished speaker from the Republican party. This guy's weekly radio address should be a barrel of laughs, if he gets in!

Not a Republican, but it was decent. Better than the retard Bush, and he won twice. LOL.

You don't have do be a slick public speaker to resonate, although it helps.

You just all wish you loved each other like Canadians do. We only hate French Canadians. :) As a U.S. Citizen for the last several years, the choices have not been easy to tell the truth. I laugh at anyone beholden to one side or the other as they mostly sound the same and are all coached and scripted.

Well, I'm not a Republican (or a Democrat) and thought his speech was dreadful. I actually think McCain has some strengths as a politician, but speaking, clearly isn't one of them. Saying he was better than Bush isn't saying much. My two year old can deliver a more lucid and polished speech than Bush can! I just cringe anytime I hear a politican sound like he's stumbling over his words. Also, while I respect McCain's service to our country...Him going on and on and on and on with a minute by minute, blow by blow description of his POW experience seemed very out of place. Again, I respect the guy's service to our country. I'm just not sure how that makes him any more qualified to be the next President, and not sure whose idea it was for him to carry on about it. Is it too late to write in a candidate, so we can get rid of both of these dopes

I think the point he was getting to is that is when and how he "fell in love" with this country - through his suffering in a foreign land. When he said he'd defend this country until his dying breath, I actually believed it. I don't even like John McCain, but I thought he was sincere. Dull, but sincere.

I get that, but many people are leary of great public speakers who are disingenuous. Bush was a shitty public speaker and won twice, keep that in mind. McCain and Obama are light years better at it than Bush.

McCain is more qualified, but it doesn't mean he wins. I personally think it doesn't matter much who wins. One party control over 3 branches though is NEVER a good thing. We'll see what happens of course.

In some markets, liberal shows actually beat the Limbaughs and the Hannitys.
Once again, you are simply repeating misinformation conveyed from on high.

Randi Rhodes beat Limbaugh in South Florida, or at least used to.
Thom Hartmann beat Limbaugh going head to head in Seattle.
Ed Schultz has been very competitive in Denver and Portland against Hannity.
Stephanie Miller has trounced Hannity in the past.
There are pockets of success out there, nothing like Limbaugh, of course.
But then again, most aren't provided the luxury of being simulcast on 500 stations across the fruited plain.

Thanks to Bubba and the Telecomm Act, Clear Channel went from owning around 50 stations nationwide to over a 1000.
Now, just what format do you think most of these news/talk stations were immediately designated as?
Many of the stations that carried Air America were low wattage.
If it was available, I never heard it.
The decks are stacked and the playing field is skewed.
Many right wing broadcasters are successful, no doubt.
But to just brainlessly parrot the line about “free market forces at work” is to be intellectually myopic.
Kinda how the favorite perennial boogey man of the Fairness Doctrine (first passed by a Republican congress) is trotted out to fear people into thinking it would guarantee some 50/50 liberal and conservative radio balance.
It wouldn’t, and never has.
