If it takes 10 years to get the oil (it won't but I will use Obama's numbers) then we had better start soon or rather than bring in our own oil we will be paying people who hate us (and always have) for our energy needs. Obama won't allow the drilling, with McCain we will start.
3. You don't negotiate with Iran et al without getting them to stop the race to nuclear weapons. McCain won't...Obama will...he said he would and you know...I believe him.

Non-partisan studies have shown the average middle-class American would get to keep 5% more of their income under the Obama plan, to 3% under McCain. References to this have already been listed previously on this post.

This does nothing to change the fact that a US Diplomat, met with Iranians over the nuclear issue as recently as August.

Right, let's predicate our evaluation of her capacity as a potential commander-in-chief of the world's most powerful nation on her anchorwoman-like delivery of a line written by Karl Rove.
You have no humor in you do you?? For fuck sake.
Notice a WINK...and lots of LOL smiles.
And Karl Rove didn't write the speech.
Oh yeah...That line was not IN the speech. She did that extemporaneously.

One line made at a CNN debate should not be construed as the totality of Obama's foreign policy.
Rice and Gates are in favor of talks, too.
Reagan spoke to Gorbachev
Nixon met Mao
What exactly are you afraid of?

We have the largest deficit ever thanks to the Bush administration (after coming into a surplus).
We went after the wrong country (Iraq when it should've been Afghanastan) thanks to the Bush administration(s).
Mcain and Palin are another 4 years of Bush's policies. Mcain's voted with Bush 90% of the time.
Why would Palin want to be known as a Barracuda. Kudos to Heart for slamming them.

Palin was born in the same state as I. She is almost my same age. She is almost as good looking as me. She has been married as long as I have almost. We both have children with DS.
mcCAIN WAS A pow. We are at war, he be the man to relate!

Mcain being a POW has NOTHING to do with what he can do as a president. NOTHING.
brywool wrote:Reason- The world hates us thanks to the Bush administration.
This is absolutely incorrect. As a raw dollar amount, yes, but in reality, no. It's like saying you have a bigger debt if you awe $1,000 on a credit card when you're making $50,000 a year than if you owe $900 on a credit card making $20,000 a year. You're focusing on the dollar amount too much rather than what the number is relative to our gross income. More scare tactics from the left, and though Bush has overspent, we're in no danger from a budget deficit point of view.brywool wrote:We have the largest deficit ever thanks to the Bush administration (after coming into a surplus).

Mcain being a POW has NOTHING to do with what he can do as a president. NOTHING.
Except what it takes to sacrifice for a country he believes in and loves. If you believe a POW has nothing to offer as a president, then you need to visit some. They have paid a price for this country that many would shrink from. You tell someone who was beaten and told to denounce his country that he doesn't care about what he sacrificed to serve it. He was a soldier. Who better to care for their needs? Who better to be their comander and cheif? One who has never served?

Anyone who has never served or doesn't have a loved one who has served doesn't know the sacrifices serving in the military requires. What John McCain went through was unbelievable. It makes Guantanamo look like a a 5 Star Hotel.
Does it make him sole fit to be the C-N-C? No. Does it give him a deeper insight into some, some mind you, issues that the President has to deal with.
All in all it made him a better person.

I don't agree. I do agree that it was a huge sacrifice, but it in no way has any baring on it.

Oh yes it fucking does. That man's story and service to this country oozes with patriotism, selflessness and courage. Those are far better qualities than hanging out with William Ayers, Tony Rezko and Reverend Wright...a terrorist, a crook and a racist.
