Oh yes it fucking does. That man's story and service to this country oozes with patriotism, selflessness and courage. Those are far better qualities than hanging out with William Ayers, Tony Rezko and Reverend Wright...a terrorist, a crook and a racist. Quit acting like a communist pig.

Being a POW doesn't automatically qualify you to be president. However, the way McCain handled himself during that situation showed remarkable bravery, integrity and character. Those are qualities I admire in a president.

Mcain being a POW has NOTHING to do with what he can do as a president. NOTHING.

Except what it takes to sacrifice for a country he believes in and loves. If you believe a POW has nothing to offer as a president, then you need to visit some. They have paid a price for this country that many would shrink from. You tell someone who was beaten and told to denounce his country that he doesn't care about what he sacrificed to serve it. He was a soldier. Who better to care for their needs? Who better to be their comander and cheif? One who has never served?

I don't agree. I do agree that it was a huge sacrifice, but it in no way has any baring on it.

How can you lead a military, with no military service? With no idea how they feel, what their needs are? Tell the POW their sacrifices are not a sign of leadership, honor, valor, and love of country. You know you can get your head out of the sand if you pull hard enough! LOVES YA!

If you live your life worrying about what other people think about you, you're going to fail at almost everything you set your mind to do. Sorry. This is about as dumb a reason to cast or not cast a vote as I've ever seen.

The absence of leadership is consensus. If consensus is what you want, vote for B. Hussein Obama. He'll give it to you in spades. You'll see polls and discussion groups on every time-sensitive decission ever needed to be made from the oval office...and he'll frequently decide poorly. However, if you refer to his voting record in state and us senate, you'll see that he often abstains from deciding at all!

Yep! That's what I want from a leader. Someone that defers or abstains from decission making, because he's too fucking chicken shit to commit to something he'll be criticized for later!!

The reason the democrats rubber stamped this fucktard into the nomination (and stonewalled anyone else) is *because* he has a sparse voting record with little background in public service (less to pick apart). Obama's an empty shell with a slightly above average speaking voice that fails at the first sign of teleprompter problems. He's useless. A complete shitbag, with a career politician shitbag for a running mate.

For anyone that even remotely believes Obama is 'for change,' look at the schmo he picked for a running mate and use your brain for once. Biden has been a stump in congress for years. He's as bad as any career elected official in congress and if you can't figure it out, change is the LAST thing he is concerned with.

Another thing about this "everyone hates us" bullshit....

It's not hate. The liberal douchebags just say that to try to make people feel guilty here.

It's really jealousy. Jealousy of our world power.
This is just another way to try to usurp it from us...

...and liberal douchebags all over the country all hell bent to oblige. You (that fit such a description) should be proud of yourselves for your french-loving, unamerican contribution...

Right on the head there, Frank. A friend of mine knows someone born and raised in France, who came over here to go to school. She asked him why the French hate us so much and he told her, quite frankly (no pun intended), that it is pure jealousy. The countries (and civilizations) of Europe have been around for far longer than the US, but we advanced in so many ways much faster than they have.

That's what they *want* us to think. The real motive is to watch ourselves sink ourselves into socialist hell, because they weren't able to do it to us.

Quite frankly, I don't label myself as such....or anything. I'm for whatever fixes this country. I'll take a Utilitarian approach. Greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people....Too many people rely on hedonistic calculus in this country. Selfishness is rampant.

you have Mccain/Palin or Obama/Biden

McCain / Palin

Reasons:

*Sarah

*drilling - we have got to be less dependent on foreign oil.

*security - McCain has guts, he'll not be afraid to use force to keep us safe.

*education - school of choice for our kids, we get the same choice as Washington does.

*taxes - McCain will not raise taxes, he'll keep them low. Obama? I've never seen a Democrate who didn't love to tax & spend MY money.

Since when is slashing funding for the VA "caring for their needs"?
As recently as this May, McCain was opposing the new GI Bill which was drafted by vet Dems and Repubs alike - and then he took credit after it passed.

Claimed it would encourage more people to leave the military after they have completed one enlistment.
Webb, Warner, and Hagel claimed they did the homework before drafting it.

McCain wanted certain benefits for those who served one enlistment and greater benefits (specifically more college money and the right to transfer it to your dependents) for those who did more than one term. This is only common sense. You offer your country a little more you get a little more.
If you choose to make the military a significant part of your career you get increased opportunity to take care of your family as opposed to someone who decides that one honorable term of service (fine in itself of course) is enough for their needs. Encourage long term service you get streetwise Staff Sgts, Tech Sgts, and Chief Petty Officers ewho know how to manage day to day situations effectively and efficiently and it builds morale.

By the way, the reason so many people deny that McCains service is irreevant to him being qualified for president is this: Realising or admitting that service is an integral part of character and civil life does creates a sense of obligation in them to go serve a cause greater than them. And no one wants to that- because everyone is out for "me first" , and they dont want to feel guilty for not giving of themselves
