Exclusive: WARRANT Part Ways With Singer Jani Lane ... Again!
Posted on Friday, September 05, 2008 at 17:23:52 EST

WARRANT guitarist ERIK TURNER has sent BW&BK the following statement regarding the exit of singer Jani Lane ... again:

"It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that Jani Lane will no longer be performing with Warrant. From the beginning of our reunion talks to the last note of our last show together in Houston this past weekend we have had nothing but good intentions of bringing a quality original Warrant show to our fans and friends. We wish Jani nothing but the best and remain friends.

We are very excited that we have found an unbelievable voice in Robert Mason (LYNCH MOB), an old friend of the band. We have three dates confirmed, come out and judge for yourself…we don’t think you will be disappointed.

Jesus, when will these fucking bands learn!?

As good a vocalist as Robert Mason is, people don't give a shit unless it's Mr Cherry Pie himself! LOL

He's his OWN evil twin.

They suck, anyway. Good riddance, again.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Jani is extremely talented, and a nice guy as well. He'd been sober for a year when I met him, and if he slipped again, I really am sorry to hear about it.

He was probably angry about being replaced? Who knows.

What's wrong with this Jani Lane guy - he needs to grow up! Fans are sick of this drama.

Just checked into this a bit more - guess what else happened??

Jani's Myspace has disappeared - used to be filled with fan comments and was always active but now it's been taken down. I'm sure this was done to avoid a sudden influx of disgruntled (and rightly so) fan comments.

The guy really needs to get his life back in order.

When will music fans learn that this is their living and 4 people's financial lives cannot be destroyed by one person. I saw the show in Las Vegas and have never seen a vocalist that bad. Jani is out of control with drink and drugs and cannot sing, remember the lyrics, play guitar, coverse with the audience, be respectful to his band members, or dress himself appropriately. The band was great and tried to work through it and give him a chance and he failed. The other four guys have invested their lives into this band for 20+ years and how they make a living. I don't understand how music fans cannot understand that this is a business to these guys and how they feed their families. If lawyers start a law firm and a partner, even the lead partner, leaves all they do is scrape the name off the door and get new business cards and move on with the business.

The glorious part of this is if you as a patron of music do not like when bands aren't original or the members you prefer as a fan you can simply choose not to attend shows, buy their music and merch and simply move on. That is everybody's right. I like McDonalds for the McRib and when they are offering that product I will eat at their restaraunt and when the don't, they do not get my business.

And Redwingfans clip wasn't as bad as the show I was at so here are a few clips. Judge for yourself. Sunset Station casino did give every fan that requested their money back a full refund and if you paid by credit card you got a full refund even without request and the band was not paid nor were any of their costs covered. It was sold out 4,000 fans and only a few hundred left at the end.

Oh come on!!! couldn't you see the sarcasm?

I understand your point....however, it gets rediculous when these bands go through tons and tons of replacement singers. The fans *dont* have to fork over money for product they dont want. I'd be willing to bet you that the majority of fans out there dont care about Mason, Jamie or William Hung singing for this group. They want Lane....if Lane cant do it, they're just cheapening the whole thing by repeatedly replacing him with the next guy...

Fans dont have to be sympathetic to the band's financial needs. We're the consumer, not the other way around. You might be into rock-star charity, I'm not. If Lane is the person I want to see fronting this band, I wont spend money on it until they straighten out their problems and get it right....

personally, I'm sick of seeing these bands screw the pooch, time and time again.

Wow....those videos are horrible! I remember seeing them a couple years ago and he tried to sing, "Heaven". He'd stop after a verse and yell at the people in the back. We left too. Dude needs to get it straightened out!

Like Warrant was ever a good band????????????????????

Seriously though, it's gotta be tough for the guy to be on top of his game and at the height of success and then years later to be in the basement. that's a drag for him. Still, never 'got' them.

Honestly, these clips are like when I'm in a club and some drunkassbitch grabs the mic outta my hand....

I was really excited when I heard Jani was back with Warrant. But it didn't feel like they actually got back together because they wanted to. It fell like a cash grab, and I think it was. Jani was fired before. Now fired again. He had been blogging about quitting smoking. I commented to him that given his struggles with addictions I could only hope trying to quit yet another vice wouldn't be too much for him. (It didn't get approved...) Seems maybe he is still struggling with those "demons". A true shame as when he is clean, he is a very talented individual....

I agree... Everyone knows how bad his shows were going before he got sober, of course highlighted by that meltdown on "Celebrity Fit Club", but he got himself sobered up and started kicking butt again. We saw him only a year ago or so, and he was fantastic. Excellent performance, and he was very nice and personable. We kept in touch occasionally on MySpace for a while. He got back together with Warrant soon after. Jani is highly underrated as both a songwriter and musician, and I really hope for his sake he cleans himself up.
