I used to work for Lou at space.com for about 2 years. A top notch character with piles and piles of integrity. He means what he says and says what he means. He would invite the whole crew out to his ranch in west Jersey on the 4th of july and put on his own fireworks show. Fun times, fun times!!

That's cool. Now, the funny thing is a lot of people (media reports) say he's a prick. But, I don't see it. I've also talk to someone who has dealt with him in the past and said he is very helpful. Sounds like the media elites don't get him.

Ronald Reagan was a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT president. He was one of the few politicians who I actually admired. This country needs more politicians like Reagan, and fewer like the garbage we have running for the highest office in the land!

Total class act. Just like when he always would wear a suit jacket in the Oval Office, as a sign of respect to the country and the presidency (and the American people).

I think it's amazing to consider the difficult circumstances that Ronald Reagan faced when he came into the presidency, and how he (and the American people) succeeded in confronting those: runaway inflation, a stagnant economy, Soviet adventurism in our own hemisphere and elsewhere around the world ..... Remember the massive European demonstrations against Reagan's determination to station Pershing II missiles in West Germany? Remember the media recriminations against Reagan for his entire term in office, suggesting he was a "right-wing radical", dangerous, even crazy? It seems like it wasn't until Reagan's funeral that it became okay for some people to admit that he had been a great president (and a good man).

I was in Washington, D.C., in January 1989, on the Mall, when Reagan's helicopter took off, circled once, then headed West ..... It was an especially meloncholy moment, because you realized that you had probably witnessed one of the most amazing periods in history, with one of history's most memorable figures, and that so much after him would be not as good and certainly not nearly as much fun .....

I was able to attend one of his "Rally the troops" speeches in Iceland after he had chatted with Gorbachev. Just awesome.
