What's in Your Name?

Postby etcetera » Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:25 pm

...A spinoff from the What's That Av? thread.

This time, how about your permanent username, that which you have most likely contemplated upon lol with effecting a striking impact--and a lasting imprint--in mind?

To start with...

About five options I've initially successively thought of were either taken or uncomfortably close to at least one of those taken. Considered, and got through with, yet another,"Etcetera," which, regardless, is as relevant as the previous ones I would have adopted, albeit in a different aspect--and that's for the miscellany that I am lol.

The floor is yours :) .

I was NealSchonFan53 for like a year and had been going through a new username every week for a month or so trying to find one I liked.

I was on a huge progressive rock kick when I put this name down (still am, as always, of course) and figured it'd be a good way to automatically show people where my musical tastes are inclined. Also, 53 is my number for everything, having been my lifetime football jersey.

I had went to go change my username to one of my many nicknames one day, having gotten tired of ProgRocker53 after just a week. Unfortunately that was in the midst of the identity scandals and the usernames were frozen at that point, and it was stuck.

Soon thereafter I was posting, interacting, and engaging tenfold more than before.... and I actually became a bit well-known around here. I couldn't change it then, lest I leave behind my many new nicknames (Proggie, Proggletits, etc.) and my new MR identity.

Thanks.

It was a toss up between "Angel" and "What do you want it to be." Angel won.

hi PROGGIE!! I missed ya!!

my name was swept away during identity crisis week too. i changed it to Dulce Lady in honor of JSS ROCKS week one time. It had been GirLikeYou for y-e-a-r-s..........a song from Neal's PIRANHA BLUES album. the song was about me so I figured why not. :P Dulce Lady is about me too. :P it is a bonus track on JSS' Lost In The Translation cd--hence my location.

but, before that, I was momflute from when AOL 1st started up. I had a large flute studio with approx. 30 private students and a houseful of my personal children, hence the name. I still am both of them in several places.

and I'm just plain CRAZY all the time so there ya go.

Good word association. Stevie Ray's song was Cold Shot so very close.

I may have to resurrect SRV if I don't find something else. I'm going avatar less for 9/11 remembrance though.

Nick-name from a friend in high school who's family was also Welsh; means silver-black, a reference to tarnish (cause I was baaaaad girl who corrupted her and introduced her to boys, rock music and booze - all on the same Sunday! )
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
