OT - Singers that sound alike

Postby epoy » Sat Sep 13, 2008 4:51 am

I just realized while listening to Gregg Allman the other day that he kinda sounds like Michael McDonald. There's a lot of singers around that in my opinion, sound similar....including: Great White singer and Robert Plant, Michael Sweet and DDY or Delp, AP and JJ/SP/NancyW/AirSupply dude, Anderson and the YT discovery, etc...

who else?

I don't think Michael Sweet and DeYound much like each other at all.

Jack Russell and Plant definitely sound a lot alike. Just listen to their Zeppelin covers album and you'd be hard pressed not to think it was Zeppelin playing the songs.

No way. Time for an ear check up me thinks. Rip's voice is very surprising though - first time I heard the clip I thought it was a woman. Seriously.

Oh pooie on y'all. Not sure what clip it was, but I thought he did. :P

And I also think Eric Martin sounds a little like early Jeff Keith (EM's got Keith's grit/Perry's soulfulness)....so there. :P

Stefan Berggren and David Coverdale....

I couldn't fiind the song on youtube, but the song 'What Love Can Do' by Company of Snakes is so much Whitesnake-like - it is SCARY!

I always thought Martin and Keith sounded very similar.

Back in the early Yngwie days, JSS and Mark Boals (sp?) sounded similar. These days JSS's range is much better than I would expect Boals to have.
