I think it's too late to turn back now, plus I think Hillary would just give him the big FU.

I agree that it's too late, but I don't think they would start this without her on board, do you?

I just showed this to 2 politically attuned people and they were stunned. Do you think they'ed really switch?

Sounds like that's what they're planning, and honestly, whether it's too late or not, it may be their only chance. Sarah Palin, no matter what anyone else thinks of her, was a brilliant selection by McCain.

Boy that is a risky move. That is the ultimate flip flop right there.

He really made a stupid move when he didn't go with her in the first place. Biden even says in that clip that she would be a better choice, so something might be in the works. A lot of people bailed on him when he picked Biden.

Somebody go check the video when Obama announced "...the next president of the United States.." and see if Biden started looking over his shoulders then point at himself like, "who me?"

Ya, I can't figure out how that would go over. Will they be elated or even more offended? Would a move like that help him or seal the nail in the coffin? Interesting, indeed.

I think that, if it were offered to her, and she turned it down, that she'd be cutting off her nose to spite her face. She'd take it.

I don't think her supporters would be offended. It would be looked at as righting a wrong. He should have gone with her in the first place.

The better question is, would Hillary even take Joes spot now?

Hillary's not going to replace Joe Biden on the ticket. That video comment was just a ham-handed recognition of reality and kow-towing to former Clinton supporters: that picking Joe Biden wasn't the smartest move.

Early voting starts in exactly three weeks in some states (like mine). That means that printing of ballots has already started. Whoever is listed on those ballots is who will be on the ticket: BARACK H. OBAMA and JOSEPH BIDEN.

Perhaps Obama realized that there is a chance he could get whacked after election, and picked someone that NOBODY would want as president. Kinda like Quayle.....

I'm considering a one thread only for the US election posts.

I'm very interested in the outcome also, looking forward to a change of admin.

Biden's just being modest.
More than likely, Hillary's name wasn't on the VP short list because, as others have speculated, she wouldn't have made it past the vetting.

11 years? Are lumping in George Herbert Walker Bush into that as well andrew?

You do know that there was a democrat-party president that served for 8 years between said Bush's....do you? It's not like this country existed in a vacuum between 1992-2000....some good things and some bad happened during that time and some of the good and some of the bad was due to a reversal of policy (or change of ideology) due to Clinton's move into the presidency.
