Another guilty pleasure of mine....their debut is a classic.

When I had my long hair (blonde, but not THAT blonde) I was often referred to as Nelson....which was okay since my Mom's maiden name is Nelson.

While the music was catchy as hell, they really 'slid into' the rock scene. But their drummer is a metal vet!

Hey, I'm up for a Scrap Metal one.....cuz that of coarse includes Mr. EM. :)

Gunbot, I met Ricky Nelson when I was a kid, but I didn't really know who he was. We were at Circus Circus in Vegas.......on a family vacation, and we were playing a bunch of different kid games they had there. He was standing there with 2 big dudes and ended up having a little polite conversation with my parents. My mom asked if we knew who he was and my younger brother and sister didn't have a clue and I only knew who he was once my mom mentioned "Garden Party".

ahhhhh.

I was Mrs. Ricky Nelson when I was a little girl. We NEVEH EVAH EVAH missed Ozzie and Harriet.

sigh................

but I digress.

In college, I carried my ancient music history class notes in a Nelson folder. The prof agreed with me--he said he bored himself.

I met Matthew in Southbend and had an "OMGOSHyou'resohotIloveyou" moment--I told Matthew about the college folder and he just stared at me like "what the fluff are you talking about?" someone took my pic with him-- LYNN?? MEL?? where is that pic?? or who has it??---and I just slinked off and sat down by Gary, kept my mouth schutt and let the rest of the gang walk by, for fear off another "OMG" moment. --- EM, JJ, KC. I didn't talk , no pics, no eye contact.   OMGOSH ImADork.

I have a very early version on Nelson on video. I'm uploading it right now to YouTube. The song is called Won't Walk Away which was later rerecorded and a video was done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTO9-ZkkymU

The early version will be up soon

Hmmm... The fuckwits on YouTube block my Nelson video even before it becomes public. Says something about Universal has denied it due to copyright?

So... I'll just upload the video for people to download
