Nope! THat was the first thing I tried but it was gone. Apparently I wasn't logged in when I was editing my first post. F-ck!

That's happened to me... if you press submit and you get the log in screen... DO NOT enter your log in info. Hit back once, the text you typed should still be there, select the text and copy, then log in, go back to the thread to reply, and paste.

I don't stay logged in on other PCs like I do at home, so if I'm not on my own PC, and I take too long and the session times out, that happens a lot.

Nice Job SJ!!!!

The finish line awaits these guys and while some shows went better than others, there are plenty of fans who enjoyed the hell out of these shows. I'll be hitting their next show in So Cal and after that? I don't know...The PI? (AKA The Philippine Islands )

Saint John told me earlier that Arnel was really appreciative of the fans on the lawn in Chicago who sat thru the rain, so I thought I'd share this from his chat earlier today:

Knellsky: lets give an applause to the people of chicago who braved the rain all through out until the end of our show
Knellsky: i realy admire them
Knellsky: no treally im so serious
Knellsky: it was just raining hard all the time
Knellsky: and they stayed like there's no tomorrow

That's cool Rip. They stayed like there's no tomorrow and half of them probably got caught in flood waters trying to get out. The city and burbs are flooded now and it started overnight on Friday. Rhi and I almost got lawn seats for that show too, and we're both so glad we didn't. The weather was absolutley miserable. Kudos to those who braved that shit. I wouldn't have.

He thanked them so many times for sitting through the weather. They were very loud when he acknowledged them. I think his kind words helped them forget about the miserable weather they had to endure. Kudos to Arnel and the fans that sat through that weather.

One more (last) time. 80% recall.

Cheap Trick was good. Rick Neilson was his goofy self despite having a cold, probably the bug that's been going around on the tour. This was a quasi-homecoming for the Rockford, Illinois natives so the crowd was into them especially on the hits. Cain played 3 songs with them with Deen jumping in a Dream Police.

Heart brought it. Ann Wilson sounds like she did 20 years ago, a total powerhouse. Nancy still has it too (if you know what I mean). The rest of the band was very good especially the keyboard player. During the set Saint John went backstage to meet Arnel and Jon Cain. I'm not in the in crowd yet, so I didn't go backstage but I did enjoy the Heart set. Saint John did drop the ball though as he failed to get my Windy City Breakdown CD signed. He claims he couldn't find it, I'm claiming he didn't have the balls to get it signed. Thanks!

Between the Heart and Journey we went out to the concession stand. Despite the early stages of what was to be a mass flooding, record rainfall not one fan was complaining or did it sap their energy even the ones (who had their head up their asses) who weren't prepared. There is no doubt in my mind the weather prevented the unthinkable - a sellout at the FMBT.

Now to Journey. An excellent show - Arnel is the man. After reading many reviews and watching even more youtubes of previous shows, you can tell the band is getting a little tired as the tour winds down. This is totally understandable this being a long tour and now the days are getting shorter. Don't get me wrong, this was a great show. Neal was solid as usual, Jon and Ross had fun, Deen is a monster and I love the new pimp look, and Arnel is a ball of energy on the stage. Arnel makes me nervous with all those drum riser jumps (especially with wet feet). He needed to be more careful when he was out on the sides of the stage, it was wet and slippery out there. Sure as shit, the first time he went out there and came back to the center of the stage he almost slipped. But he learned quick and then had fun with it. When he would come back to center stage after being off to the sides he would slide across the stage with the wet shoes - cocky little shit. Just kidding. Even though I like Keep On Runnin, it is definitely a crowd killer. If they are going to play less than familiar song, I think they should play a new one instead. As Saint John stated Arnel appeared tired at meet and greet, but when he is on stage you can not tell. That man is a ball of energy, he left it all on stage. A true pro. The only very, very minor criticism I have (and this is just me) is Arnel did way too many Sotoesque mic flips. I had bad flashbacks when he did that. Finally during the last song, Saint John and I went up to the front row to empty seats and this jagoff security guard threw us out for no reason. He seen us all show just 10 rows back. He bypassed all the people standing in the aisle and hassled us, who had at least had the courtesy of finding seats. This guy was a real stroke.

P.S. Before the show, Saint John and I were entertained by an impromptu comedy routine a the box office. This guy was a riot. You had to be there to appreciate it.

This is all I can remember from my initial post a couple of days ago.

He didn't throw us out. He made us show our ticket stubs (to the seats he knew we had in the 10th row!!! :x ). A group of about 20 in the first row had just left so we went down there for the last song. But that was a no-no to Super Security Guard. We had 2 choices...back to the 10th row or exit stage left. We chose the latter to get a head start on traffic. I can't speak for Tito but I'm not a big LTS fan anyway. The absolute miserable weather makes it all that much more impressive that 26,000 people rocked out for over 4 hours. 8)

Correct, let me clarify. He threw us out of the seats not the venue. Contrary to how I may seem on these boards, I'm pretty easy going but that was the first time I really got pissed at a security guard and wanted to knock his teeth down his throat. There was no good reason for tossing us at THAT POINT. It was the last song not middle of the show. We were not standing in front of someone else, a total dick move.

The additional shocker, the Loop actually played Journey for the first time in months during the post show (but less than they do usually for other bands). The bigger shock - they played a Hardline song as their 11 o'clock shocker.

11:47 PM "ANY WAY YOU WANT IT" - JOURNEY
11:43 PM "DREAM POLICE" - CHEAP TRICK
11:37 PM "MAGIC MAN" - HEART
11:32 PM "SEPARATE WAYS (WORLDS APART)" - JOURNEY
11:21 PM "SURRENDER" - CHEAP TRICK
11:17 PM "BARRACUDA" - HEART
11:12 PM "STONE IN LOVE" - JOURNEY

thanks, tito, for redoing that--again! it was worth the wait. 8)

BTW, I noticed the mike flips too but prolly had a much different reaction. (you didn't cry too did ya? :P )

but, it is like Neal learning by mimicking Hendrix and JSS and his perryisms. it is the highest form of flattery. So my attitude has changed a bit about the flips. If that makes Arnel a better performer and he can pull it off, more power to him. Since no one has ever heard JSS anyway, :P , they prolly don't even know that it isn't AP's style. but it IS his style now, right? and it is working for him. you go, AP!! (and drink lots of fluids to cough that crap up. :? )

DrFU had a similar meltdown at Boston and Styx. NO BODY was sitting 7-8 seats to the left of me so we moved down to be at the aisle. they musta checked out stubs 10 times. well, not mine--Linda's and her sons cuz THAT WASN'T MY SEAT! ehehehehe  Ken--I had your back--you bailed on me. :P anyway, Linda had a total hair flipping, stomping, cuss word flying, throw herself down in the seat schutt fit and then she fell in it!!! It was GREATNESS!!!! I am such a chicken. I do the batty eye, blonde thing--hey it works for me so schutt up. :P
