Is the Cd REALLY that good, or are people talking themselves into liking it because it is JSS (cause he was in Journey for a nano-second)?

I think Red 13 and Generations suffered from this phenomenon as well....but that's just me.

Just for the record, I like SMFP, but I don't like everything he's ever done....I thought FTLOSM was god-awful.

I'll give you my honest opinion. I liked Prism and Lost in translation, because they are what I Consider Melodic Rock, they would fit right in with everything else in the mid 80's. I'm not digging the new CD, I don't like the new direction it's going musically. I'll stick with the other two I mentioned. Then again I wasn't floored by Revelation and the only solo song I like by Steve Perry is "Don't fight it" (probably because of the creative and musical input from Loggins and Neil Giraldo). So that's my honest opinion for what it's worth.

P.S. Don't trust anything the women reviewers say, J.S.S. has some kind of Puerto Rican Voodoo spell that seems to work on them so anything the chica's say might be under mystical duress.

   Well mister if you would have gotten into Paladino's and caught some of these songs live you might be singing a different tune, eh. :P

PS....I love the 80s too, but I'm not stuck there. :P

And yes, I'm just being sarcastic.

I love funk and SOUL (I may have mentioned that once or twice over the last couple years   ), also rock/pop...............so ya, to me it's REALLY that good! It's got a great mix....current favorite is Our Song.

Really, Deb....you like funk and soul?  I'm a Motown Girl!!!
I love this new JSS......oh and BTW I love everything that has come out of SMFP's mouth.......(Rubicon...mmm, as long as he's singing it) !!!
Yeah, I'm a spoon................

Love motown/soul. I knew ya had great taste. Have heard all 3 of my favorite singers do motown and that is exactly why they are my faves. You gotta hear JSS do the Jackson 5's I'll Be There. The snippet I heard was excellent.

The security guy actually let me in when a certain person vacated the premises, the catch was I had to stay within eyesight of him and listen to his ongoing tirade against that certain person so I caught the last 30 minutes of the show from a distance (the cashiers seat). When I went out to grab the other people who had been exiled and were returning from a trip off the property, the guard got hardass again and wouldn't let me back through the door, but the music was over anyway so no big deal. When the gag order expires, I'll tell the rest of the story
And yes I'm stuck in the 80's. :D

I like how it does that too. Such a great song when you're driving. Driving along, then it kicks in...........LOL, I'm totally one of those goofy chicks ya see in the car next to ya at the light totally rockin' out to that part.

And you're right about the bass player too, love Gary on bass better than guitar. But that guy is cool, gets right into it........same with Gary on guitar. So I guess I'm ok with it.

I really really really think that this is where JSS lives. I had a bunch of his stuff but then I got LOVE PARADE and then said, "OHHHHHH!!! Is that where this comes from?!!!!! Well ok"

Jeff's very groovey, funky, smooth and cool as schutt. NOW we see it clearly--it has just been peeking out before. He has raked all the pieces together and IS, without a doubt, JSS--beautifulmess

When JSS 1st alluded to a new direction, I heard this as clear as a bell. This is EXACTLY what I expected and he is incredible in this groove. I have been saying, John Legend, Jack Johnson, Nikka Costa, Alicia Keys, etc for a while now. mix in a little signature crunchy edge and it is the total package.

gawd I sound like his sistah or a relative, eh? "oh, our little Jeffy!!!" <pinch cheeks>
I'm excited. pardon me.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

And there is a lot worse things than being compared to Lenny Kravitz...........um hellooooooooooooooo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taMJOCYIsHc

One of my fave LK tracks. :)

JSS + Gina Gershon = Bring It Home vid??
