Trial by Fire/For The Love Of Strange Medicine similarities

Postby jestor92 » Tue Sep 23, 2008 3:39 pm

The more I listen to these two albums, the more I like them especially the slower songs. I was wondering if anyone knows any bands/albums that are similar in that vein of music styling?

I'd like to know that, too. Love the more "thoughtful" lyrics/music nowadays. 8)

Guess what.

FTLOSM is the better Journey album of the 2.

What do you mean again?

you know that I drink every single solitary day of my life.

Rarely drunk, but can't not drink.

FTLOSM remains the better Journey record.

For the Love of Strange Medicine is far and away the superior album. Trail by Fire doesn't even come close in my opinion.

Red,

Do I own the same FTLOSM record as you? The CD is not that good. I can still listen to TBF, but can't say the same for FTLOSM.

If anyone ever needs to know what type of psychological state Perry was in after leaving the band, buy FTLOSM, and you'll know everything you need to know. That album was a walking counseling session.

The whole, album is kind of sad and somewhat strange.

Find MARO's index list of signers in the Journey vein and I'm sure there's some good stuff there. He's posted it more than once and I think gave it an individual thread too. The search button up top should do it.

But who doesn't love a poll?

My turn. FTLOSM is more consistent in sound.

Trail By Fare has highs and low spots. Some great, some not so much. To that end, I'd say more people would pick TBF 'cause of its variety.

JSS has lots of journey/perry-esque sounding stuff. Prism has more ballads than Lost in the Translation. PRISM has a tribute song to 9-11 called Heaven Knows. Power ballad Holding On. Cover tune I Wanna Take You Higher (for texafana  ) featuring Glenn Hughes. Beeeeautiful love song By Your Side featuring an amazing acoustic shred by Howie Simon.

my $.02

(for the pole--------I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE FTLOSM) 8)

I'd take "Street Talk" over those two snoozefests any day.
