That's simply not the case.
Throughout the 2005 US tour, and the Europe mini-tour, there were Augeri tapes for Chain Reaction, Only the Young, Edge of the Blade, Keep on Running, and even Dead or Alive. The vox for Place in the Heart was off Generations. Whereas Faith in the Heartland appeared to be a alternate studio take off the album. Its tempo was slower, but it was the same one played night after night, with an interlude in the middle for Augeri to "sing."
As with most tracks, he would finish the last minute of the song, talk to the crowd, and then another tape would be cued.
It wasn't a matter of him not being able to handle rockers anymore, or sticking to ballads, throughout this period he couldn't sing a lick.
This FITH video features audio from the same show as WYLAW.
The only live parts are 4:43 and it goes back to tape at 4:52.
He would also do the low range “have faith, got dreams” part and finish out the song.
So it would go nightly.
He sings a grand total of about a minute.
Here's Higher Place at a different concert that same year.
His mic is turned on at 4:45.
The difference is soo obvious.
I don't know why Augeri's most staunchest of die hards weren't all over this.
