I like it. It's definitely better than that sappy song AI made him sing!

Sounds too samey....3 Doors Down - like....Has that all too common singing through my teeth, with a clenched jaw sound....made popular by Eddie Vedder.

I can't stand Eddie Veder, but I actually like a few on the new 3 Doors Down...It's Not My Time, Let Me Be Myself, It's The Only One You've Got, Your Arms Feel Like Home...pretty ok stuff.

wtf? No fkin way..no way. Vedder so sucks. Cook can sing his ass off. I am a little bit concerned about the high pitch "screaming" which he should be able to hit some of those notes at something less than high octane energy.

Very good voice, but the song is boring, formatted pig vomit. Sounds like that shitty-ass Wallflowers song from about 10 years ago.

Hate to say, the song sounds like a million others that I've heard, and so does the voice. Great voice... just can't really tell it apart from countless others I heard on corporate radio these days. Wish him the best, though.

Sounds like he's trying to pull a Daughtry. Songs ok but doesn't stand out in either voice or hooks.

This is much better.

Yes, and we saw him open for Bon Jovi and they were GREAT live. I can't wait for another album from him and would see him again in concert in a heartbeat.

I actually thought about Daughtry, and his is the only CD from any American Idol alumni I've ever bought -- very well written and executed. Best of the best.

I agree with you, Rip. Great album, great voice. Only one I ever bought. I don't even really know who this guy is. I think I saw the show once last season and he was good. The song, I don't know, I liked it okay, but by the end I was tired of the same phrases, the repetition.

Yes, you will.

Actually, Light On was co-written by Chris Cornell. The single is OK, but very corporate rock....which is to be anticipated for the first album single out of the gate by a former Idol winner. David has an amazing voice......... he will do very well. I am really looking forward to the album.........Rob Cavallo is producing it.....along with help from some of his friends.

The album drops November 18th. Light On will be available for download on Itunes Tuesday, Sept. 30th.

Wasn't a fan of David Cook on Idol and not a fan now on this song. Hard to believe he was the American Idol. :? :) Interesting to see what the rest of the album will feature. :)

Vocals are good... not great... music is lame, lifeless, and boring. The top-shelf studio musicians must have been sick that day.
