Oh, then you're right, SP had no hand in writing For You. But why would you use this song in your argument? For You never made it on record as a J song.

Didn't know that...I'm a moron. I think Journey has 2 or 3 pre-Escape tunes I like. Don't know shit about the early stuff and don't care to. Really getting into ROR the more I listen to it lately. :D

ROR has some killer tunes. Perry & Cain wrote some interesting stuff during that era and Fro was just pissed off and high enough to blow into the studio and lay down some hot solos. He claims to have stayed out all night and gone in to do it in one take.
Forget happy and complacent. ROR is Journey at it's finest.....pissed off, competitive and fried extra crisp.  8)
Plus, I like Perry's voice better on ROR than any other CD. It has character, not just high tenor.

I see it as a pop album, what FTLOSM should have been.

Yep that's right folks...Perry's voice is back to the way it was during Escape and he'll be touring night after night hitting all the high notes just like the old days. Can't wait. His 2007 statement to Newsweek that he doesn't want to sing Don't Stop Believin so he can preserve the memories of the old days was false and a lie.
