I just stumbled on to this.....I guess I apparently did transfer this awhile ago. (see the Perry recorded before Alien Project thread)

Anyways, figured I would post since it is already digital. For those who are interested, enjoy!

No problem. Nice trip down memory lane, since I'd forgotten that "Alien Project" was actually just "Alien". And dammit, now I want to hear the rest of the songs!

Just when you think you've heard everything......I've not heard that before. Thanks!!! :D It would be cool to hear the whole Pieces song(s) apart from the interview.

I remember being told in the early 80's that the previous band was Alien Project. Sounds cooler that way too.

Now I want to watch Alien again. :)

He mentioned that he played in Thousand Oaks. That's where I live - my home town. :)

I've heard stories of him hanging out at Stagecoach Inn liquor looking for something to drink. Someone once told me that Steve owed him $100. How funny is that?

Talk about a trip upward.

As far as Alien Project - I heard him say once that they were called Alien, but had to change the name because of the movie.

Can't remember if it was an interview but there's also a story that Perry had met Neal back in '72 or so in the bay area. Schon gave Perry and someone else a lift from one of Schon's gigs. Maybe a Santana show.

It was an ROR interview with Neal/Jon/Steve. Neal was telling the story about Steve asking him for a ride after a show (not Santana). He didn't know Steve, but Steve knew him. Just before Herbie's idea to form a band.

Thanks, Loneman, for this very rare clip. Great find!

Thanks Loneman. Great find. Needs to be cleaned up a bit. Now I am wondering if this clip is part of a bigger BBC interview. :D

It looks like Loneman put up this download yesterday, so the 7 days are still in effect. I just tried it again, and the link works. Try it again and see what happens. :D

It worked for me, too. Got it saved to my computer ... 1 more clip to add to my SP collection

Sallee, if anyone can find that rare Pieces song, you can. Let us know.

WOW....Steve's speaking voice is so LOW here....almost didn't recognize him!

....and his singing voice is sooooo HIGH. 8)

PS ~ Never thought I'd hear the words "Steve Perry" and "Progressive Rock" in the same sentence.

I'm pretty sure there is more to the interview, but I haven't run across anything since I got ahold of this clip probably somewhere around '97. As far as I know, this is pretty much the only music from "Pieces" out there though to be honest I haven't been actively trading in years so who knows.
