Instead of vertical, did you try the gator head horizontal?
Don't spread the wings, just rotate clockwise 90 degrees.
Then you might experiment with different fonts, 'scarabgator' immediately below the gator between the wings.

Tried it - didn't balance. Also tried rotating the whole thing 90 degrees and it just looked wrong. As is seems the most aesthetically pleasing to me.

Thanks. I kind of felt obliged (apart from the fact that ScarabGator's a hoot!) - although I can't say I'm really into gridiron, my brother-in-law used to lecture at Florida State. I used to have a Gators T-shirt somewhere he gave me, signed by some of the 2002 team, but I gave it away to an American tourist I met in Melbourne who flipped out over the signatures and had hysterics because I both wore and washed the damn thing. The shirt meant sod all to me and it seemed to make him happy - or that might have been because I swapped shirts with him in the pub and forgot just how see-through my bra was.

Ari, whatever you do stay away from the Golden Corral. One meal will put enough grease and fat in ya to cause a coronary.....I am not a fan of Tallacrappee at all. Thats where the Seminoles are and FSU and UF are big rivals, although Florida has won 4 straight over them. Come to Central Florida, its a beautiful area.

Yeah, the peas fried in batter and the fish that tasted exactly like chicken have become something of a family legend. She basically took me there to prove to me just how much she was suffering I think they did that to every visitor from Australia they had as a joke, then relented and took them to decent places after

I'm hopefully heading back to the States for a month middle of next year; booked to go to California and Pensylvania to see friends, and theoretically should get two more stops on the ticket, so I might have to do Florida again and check it out. Miami Airport wasn't exactly a highlight, which was the only other place I got to go to when I was there.

Whaaaat??? Ok, in all honesty, I love to go there and get the buffet. But I eat the exact same thing there that I did when I was 3.
One plate with two rolls and honey butter, I finish only one roll. One plate with a scoop of "potatoes" that I eat two bites of before remembering its not that good. Then I give up and go grab two cookies and put soft serve between them. Maybe its a "you just had to have grown up with it" kind of thing.
