It's really not that simple of a question. If Perry had never left Journey and they hadn't taken so many years off (and remained musically relevant), then I think the answer is a resounding yes. If Journey had been toiling away in obscurity, as they've been doing since Perry left, then probably not. If anything, the curiosity of "the new guy" probably drove some sales. Now, if Perry had come back to Journey, after being gone for so many years, then there is no question that "Revelation" would have sold, at a minimum, double what it has currently sold.

Impossible to answer because we're not even sure if the guy can sing anymore, and if so at what level. I'm quite sure he can't/won't tour and touring in support of an album increases its sales greatly. I'm guessing sales would be about the same or a bit more because of the buzz Perry would create. Really hard to speculate in this instance.

For the record, I voted that it would have sold more. I say this because I don't think he'd ever come back unless he could sing and tour in some capacity. That said, I think Jon Cain made it very clear that they're content without him and are very much enjoying having a singer willing and able to record and tour.

You mean he isn't singing the material. Until SP comes out and proves it one way or the other, it's all speculation.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Who cares! If he's not it's the same as he can't. Screw him. Let it go. I don't want to hear the name Steve Perry anymore. It's a name from the past that's all.

Whether it would've sold more or not is moot. We'll obviously never know. I personally would've still only bought the few copies I did. I imagine others would be the same. With the marketing and publicity they did for this, who knows. If this had been pushed along with some big ultimate reunion culmination, then of course.

But still, we'll never know. And frankly, I'm content with Revelation as/is.

Had Perry been involved, the record would have been even better from a writing/performing standpoint, the voice notwithstanding. The 3 of them together made each of them better. But even if Perry had continued post TBF, I don't think he'd be around today, so not sure it really matters.

I think it would show as sold more because they would be with Sony/BMG. I don't see Perry going the Walmart route, If Sony was still using him to work on remasters and other things. It would be like TBF. Sony would ship a million units off the bat and end up claiming platinum even if they didn't officially sell through just like they do with their playstations and other big ticket items. Also there would be no rerecords and probably no DVD either.
