Ditto on the sample. Too bad the original's sound isn't cleaner. That's one thing I like better about the cover.

78, was the office on last night? If so I missed it. Any good? I'll be lookin' online for it.

If you liked the original, you are gonna love this version. Its simply amazing. Way better than the original.

OK, well thanks to a very generous benefactor I've heard the whole clip and Wykked's right.

I take back my doubts from before. The sample doesn't do it justice.

This version is freakin Awesome!

I feel bad for Augeri. He got shortchanged big time. They rushed Generations and gave us plain vanilla. This version has the whipped cream, cherry and sprinkles on top.

I was gonna say "nuts on top" but you know Stevew2 wouldn't let me live it down.

Yeah.
Generations A-side material was already in short supply.
Remove FITH and TPIYH from it, and what's left?
"A Better Life", maybe?

You got it. And even with the few good song possibilities they half assed it.

How does one of the best tracks end up as a bonus?

Even "A Better Life", the cleanest sounding track is repetitive with not much life to it.

They could've made better songs out of "Believe" and even "Every Generation" if they got Cain off the vocals.

Haven't head the new TPIYH, but the original FITH def. rocked harder.
I also take issue with Arnel replicating Augeri's battle cry that led into the song.
I thought that was an Augeri-original, kinda like his shout at the beggining of Tall Stories.

I love this song.

I think it's great.
Neal's solo is far better than Cain's sappy lyrics deserve.
Cain even throws in a little Hammon-B3 into the mix.
Arnel, it goes without saying, sounds brilliant.

Even Neal's lead tone is far less processed than the last 10 years or so - just his clean playing. Reminds me a LOT of his playing on songs like Do You Recall, Just The Same Way etc...

and the organ is great too

I agree, this song should have been included in original release and have Faith in the Heartland as a bonus for Europe... The re-records Faith and place in ur heart are growing on me. I enjoy them

Shirley had commented how "focused" Neal's solos were on this album.
I know Neal prefers to just let 'er rip and do a one-take straight from the gut.

I'm a pretty big fan of "Let It Take You Back."

Very catchy, love the guitar, and of course it has the ORGAN.. which makes my tail wag.

Just listened to the sample of TPIYH.... gotta say I'm not really digging this one as much... one of those songs that it seems like only Augeri can deliver properly... however; I'll reserve final judgment until I hear the whole thing.

Not digging most of this song at all... they took out Neal's signature post-chorus lead, the solo/fills that are there aren't that good, the harmony doesn't sound as big, and Arnel doesn't do Augeri that well once again. Blah.
