OT - The 'Looking forward to' list.....

Postby S2M » Thu Oct 23, 2008 7:17 am

What, if anything, are you looking forward to?

Not in any order....

1) Some new 360 releases: Prince of Persia, Resident Evil 5, Bioshock 2, Dragon Age Origins, Ninja Blade, Velvet Assassin, Dead Space
2) My student loans being paid off....wooo.
3) FINALLY attending a meetup.
4) Signing Jake Peavy, AND mark Texeira in the offseason....You with me here, John?
5) Any new thing my son learns/accomplishes while on his weekend visits with me, for a change....
6) NOT voting AGAIN this year....
7) The start of yet another 30 - win DUKE BLUE DEVIL basketball season....

I just added a tiny, tiny frog to my aquarium and it's hard to find him so we named him "Waldo."

Wrigley is who I've been on the search for, Bailey is the other one that'll be renamed. Though I highly doubt she'll end up in my care. Her master is way too attached. I should've said "Adopting Wrigley". :P

I'm partially with you. While I believe that the Red Sox absolutely MUST get another bat (with power), Texeira doesn't have a position with the Red Sox. Both Youkilis and Lowell are still under contract, and so is Ortiz. That creates a huge logjam, because there is nowhere to play Texeira. I've always loved Peavy. The guy has very good career numbers, in spite of playing for the dreadful Padres, who never have an offense. Hell, Peavy could only manage a 10-11 record last season, in spite of a superb 2.85 ERA and 1.18 WHIP! He'd win at least 20 games with the Red Sox, with those numbers! I suspect the Red Sox probably won't even make a run at Texeira.

Sorry, Ms. Southern Belle. I know that snow is a foreign substance to you, so it's a romantic sort of thing. As a veteran of nearly 40 New England winters, I can assure you that the novelty wears off, in a hurry. You'll learn that "snow is beautiful" for about 5 minutes, after it has fallen. When all the plows and sand trucks come by, it looks like massive mounds of fecal matter, and isn't too pleasant to look at  Funny how you never come across someone from Minnesota talking about how "beautiful" snow is

John, I can understand why you are more than sick of snow. Where you live you get mountains! LOL! But we are lucky to get a few inches, sometimes if things are really cool we get about half a foot or so. When I was a girl we used to get about a foot or a foot and a half. We get snow very late in the season. So I guess I can say I like snow, if it comes and is gone in a day or so! :D

We get plenty of snow in Virginia... well, not as much as up 'Nawth... but it certainly is no foreign object, and I know how disgusting and ugly snow can be when it becomes slush and then glaciers. But we got mostly ice storms. And if it's going to be cold, it might as well do something! And I hate ice! So... ha. :P
