But being an avid Stephen King addict, this story by that author was scary! This thing kept me spellbound, up on edge and I could not put the thing down! I read it on and off constantly till I finished it! Great mystery thriller.![]()

wasn't that the vampire deal? seemed too much like interview with a vampire meets davinci code, both of which I hated.
Maybe I'll check it out. thanks for the suggestion!
Oh, and PTL Rhiannon, PTL.

Wow! I didn't even see your response.
See, we do have something in common.
She's a fantastic writer.

I can't find anything that looks good. Last time here, 1000 little pieces was suggested (or whatever it was called). It was "okay" but I need a new one.
Like fiction, horror, survival, inspirational stuff. Don't dig war, political, or chick books.
Any ideas?

I <3 that book, probably the best modern fiction I've read. You obviously have good tastes, Sirloin.
Rhiannon wrote:artist4perry wrote:What kind of book is it Rhi? I know you guys say it is modern fiction, but what is the story line?
That's an impossible question to answer.
Try looking up an Amazon review or something.

Sorry. It had two or three of you saying it was good, I was just curious. I will look it up.

Oh no worries, it's just a complex book. And I'm half-asleep.

I wrote that down. I want to check that out. Thanks!YoungJRNY wrote:I also enjoy books by John Grisham.
Ooh you just made me remember a good one...
A Painted House by John Grisham... its not one of his "lawyer" books.
Totally different type of novel and its SO good. Did not think I'd like it but I could not put it down. Its about a family in cotton farming land down south in the... I want to say 30s or 40s... been a few years since I read it, don't recall the exact year its set. Its from the p.o.v. of the young boy in the family, and circles around cotton season and the drifters they hire to help pick, etc.
I may have suggested this in the last go around of book thread... if I did, sorry to repeat. I just never remember WHAT I post and I think wrote about this one somewhere, might not have been here. If it was beyond yesterday, its gone from my head already.
