Aerosmith

Zeppelin...would never happen. But I would like to see that if Journey committed to only playing Rockers.
The Eagles....would insist on being the headliners on the whole tour, therefore Journey shouldn't do it.
GNR....that's insane.
Bon Jovi....that wouldn't be too bad, but I'd want Journey headlining the whole tour, and Bon Jovi wouldn't agree to that.
Sabath....that's as insane as the GNR thing would be.
Aerosmith...I wouldn't care for that very much, and Aerosmith would insist on being the headliner, so no thanks.
Van Halen....that would be a great tour, but Eddie would never agree to it because he knows damn well that Neal would kick his ass on guitar every night.

Van Halen with Sammy! :) Yeah, I dreamin!! And I love Neal, but he couldn't kick Eddies ass on his best day!

When it comes to guitar, Rik Emmett is the only one That could go toe to toe with Eddie when they were both in their prime.

I love Rush but I'd rather have them continue to tour on their own and play 3 hour shows.

Absolutely - their catalog is so vast it's hard enough for them to narrow down and put together a set that satisfies all fans, if their show were reduced they simply could not do it. (besides they don't need to do that - yet - they can still tour on their own and remain profitable)

Foreigner is a great match, I saw them this summer and it was one of the better shows of the summer.

To be a $ucce$$ful tour it can't be a same type of act. Pat Benatar would be good to open.

A newer band opening or 2nd up would be great. Journey has to headline and play more than the DD.

The Killers or maybe The Hives (although they might steal the show).

That, would be sweet. But Greg Rollie would have to be there also to sing 'Black Magic Woman'. :D :D

Have someone from Fleetwood Mac Come out and sing it. It was their song to begin with. :P
No!no!no! Greg or not at all.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I'd be all over that, but I don't think the Outfield is even touring anytime soon with Spinks still recovering.

Santana would be cool, but I don't think that Carlos would agree to being the opening act for Journey.

Triumph would be fantastic, IMO.

Greg Rolie would be cool to me also, but I'm not sure how many extra people he would draw attendance wise.

Some others:
Night Ranger
Y&T
Tesla
Ronnie Montrose

I think I heard from someone, maybe it was Jeremey that said Spinks is feeling much better and they are working on a new CD right now which could be followed by a tour?

Looking at some of these bands being mentioned, does Journey really want to go back to the State Fair Circuit? They need to tour with someone that can pull in 2,000 fans on their own. No need to step backward, but without a new album coming out for at least another 6 months to a year, they need a touring partner as popular as them or even bigger.

How about "Journey" opening for Steve Perry?

I said they need to tour with someone who can pull in, on their own, 2,000 fans a show, not 200. If he only did his solo material, it would be a snoozefest.

I know for the most part that this thread is about Journey headlining, but if they opened for Queen + Paul Rodgers, I'd be all over that!!!! Queen would definitely be one band I wouldn't mind seeing the boys open for. Otherwise, I sure wouldn't mind seeing Journey again with Heart and maybe Survivor/Foreigner/Billy Squier opening the show. Don't like Europe or the Outfield, but respek to those of you who do.
