Fucker could probably suck a helluva dick too. Obviously gay. People need to call him out. He's gay. Period. Still a great singer.

If we're talkin' rock GODS, then it's Plant, hands down. He's a living legend, as far as frontmen go.

Steven Tyler is the closest thing America has/had to a rock god.

Both great frontmen, but neither of those two have the vocal chops of SMFP. He's in a class by himself.

It occurs to me that Rick Allen (Def Leppard's drummer) qualifies for Rock God status. Not the best drummer around, but certainly mythologically legendary chops!

As you may or may not know, "Mandy" is a remake of a 1971 British single called "Brandy", written and recorded by Scott English. A sample of the record is on Barry's Box Set {The Complete Collection and Then Some...,1992}. It's an up-tempo R&B sounding song that was very popular in England for all of two seconds. During its rise up the British charts, a reporter called Mr. English, and asked him who the song was about. It was about 7:00 am, and Scott was still half asleep. Not happy about the rude awakening, he blurted out the first thing that came to him, that the song was about a runaway dog. {I'm paraphrasing here -- the full explanation can also be found in Barry's Box Set.}. Long story short, it does not seem to be written for anyone in particular. When Barry Manilow went to record the song for his second album in 1974 {Barry Manilow II}, it was about two years after the group Looking Glass had climbed the charts with a song named "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)". Faced with this, it was decided that the song title would be changed to the similar-sounding "Mandy". Again, not after anyone in particular, it just rhymed with the original.

Someone already made a Melissa song I think, but oh how cool that would be to have my name immortalized by Barry!
