Journey Album Japan Release

Postby The Sushi Hunter » Tue Oct 28, 2008 8:41 pm

Well, I broke down and bought the new Journey album in Tokyo today. I've not opened it yet though. My friends in Japan were talking to me about Journey and we strolled into a record shop and there it was, just one left, so I got it. Many of the people I know here in Japan were telling me that there's been lots of talk about Journey here in Japan. They've apparently have been airing on TV some specials which have featured Arnel's "Cinderella" rags to riches story, though I wish I could have seen it, they all tell me about it. And they also have told me that the new Journey album has really been selling very well, as good as it did in the U.S. They also mentioned some billboard signs they've seen around town and whatnot. I've not seen any of those either, but would like to. I'll keep an eye out. The album however is released under King Records label I believe, that's what it says on the outside of the album anyways. Added album to my collection. :D

I would hope that they would count these albums sold around the world towards it going platinum and beyond. Do they count worldwide sales towards this as well?

I listened to the bonus track which is so far only available in Japan, and for some odd reason it has a similarity to Foreigner's song "That Was Yesterday" IMO.

Here's the bonus track that I found on youtube:

BTW, the video is pretty cool. The penguins flying is my favorite part.

Still only have the wma version, haven't converted it yet.

For comparison of songs, here's the Augeri version

I love this song, and I think this version's MUCH better than the original. I have to say though...When the hell did penguins start to fly?  That part cracked me the hell up! Especially when the one came down through the palm trees.
