give it a rest, geez. why not start a thread announcing your relationship rather that clutter a thread about a horrific event?

sorry for the break up nat, but glad you found someone else.

You're stereotyping people as "potheads" who may in fact be more responsible than your average "beerhead". I know several very responsible people who toke recreationally but don't drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or do any other drugs. It's much less hazardous than drinking. I've never heard of anyone wrecking a car and killing someone from toking. But you hear about it everyday from drinking.

Please note, I did not start it. I just defended myself and it turned into what it did. In fact, I even made a similar comment about the tragic thread being hijacked.

Now, stop hijacking people!!!!!!!!

People can and are most certainly arrested for being high while driving. DUI is NOT just alcohol. Many times they pull someone over and realize they are not impaired from alcohol, but they are most certainly still impaired by their driving pattern and they STILL get arrested. Why would someone high not have the same impairment as drunk person? That makes NO sense. You KNOW accidents can be caused by them too. Try googling it, you may be surprised. And the only reason it doesnt' make news stories is because alcohol you can smell. They don't find out until after a blood test that takes hours or days that it was due to pot.

I'm sick of all these hijacking complaints. This site has ALWAYS had highjacking and it always will because some people here know each other personally. That's just how it is. And unless a thread like this involves someone from the board when it SHOULD only be taken seriously, who cares. I mean it's sad what happened in this story, but none of us are personally involved in it enough that we should not be able to have a side conversation in here. Sometimes someone says something that takes it off subject. Who cares

That is true! It's easier to find a transplant than a native. Though you can find them occasionally

Where was the Mother in all of this???? That is the question I am asking.

This is so sad. I don't like hearing about very young children dying for no reason. This incident reminds me of one that happened in the Bay Area, where they are still looking for a baby that was ejected from a car after a traffic accident. ( It is a possibility that the baby wasn't strapped in a car seat.)The car went into a canal. They are still looking for the baby's remains. :(

It does make sense if you look at the facts:

Driving: Cannabis has little effect on driving
Driving under the influence of any drug is generally discouraged, but studies have always indicated that marijuana (cannabis) has only a neglible effect on drivers who are experienced with its effects. The reason seems to be that, while there is a minor reduction in reaction times similar to being a few years older than the driver's current age, there is a sense of "paranoia" that leads to slower and more cautious driving. The most common effect is getting lost.

Crowthorne, Berkshire, United Kingdom: Marijuana appears to have less adverse impact on driving ability than does alcohol, according to findings from a recent study by the U.K.'s Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). The results replicate earlier findings recorded in the U.S., Australia and elsewhere indicating that marijuana intoxication plays a relatively insignificant role in vehicular accidents.

But I am downstairs?! :?

And my apologies, I sometimes get sidetracked by music on these music forums. Dean mentioned a game at the Saddledome, and I mentioned JSS was performing at the 'Dome with TSO tomorrow night?

Sally, I was wondering the same thing about where the mother was? But I'll bet she was probably working or something and dad was supposed to be watching the kids. :(

That's ONE study. I can find you other studies that dispute that completely. I have first hand knowledge being married to cop that has arrested more than one person high on pot for DUI. They are stumbling and oviously high and no different than a drunk driver. He has also handled traffic accidents, luckily none fatal yet, where the person was high. So don't tell me that it is safe to drive high. That is the MOST RIDICULOUS thing I think I have ever read here and i have read a lot of ridiculous things. This tops them. Pot slows your reaction time which is what makes it an IMPAIRMENT on the road. Besides the fact that it is ILLEGAL.
