I don't see why you even need to apologize Deb. It's a message board and it's about having conversations and sometimes things just pop up at the right time. I mean really, each time we want to go off on a tangent, should a new thread be started and you can tell the person to meet you over there?? How ridiculous is that. I have first hand knowledge being married to cop that has arrested more than one person high on pot for DUI. They are stumbling and oviously high and no different than a drunk driver.

You are mistaken. I have never, ever seen anyone stumble around after smoking weed. Laugh and giggle? Yes. Forget where they put their car keys? Maybe. But it has nowhere near the intoxicating effects that drinking has on someone.

You have obviously never smoked it yourself. I can guarantee that the people your husband arrested for DUI were doing more than smoking weed. If they were stumbling around, it was most likely due to a legal drug called alcohol that is many times more intoxicating than weed.

I can assure you that if the guy in the article that started this thread would have only been smoking weed, this never would have happened. His daughters would still be alive.

Maybe too much weed has impaired your judgement on this subject I'm sure a little pot like a little alcohol can allow you to drive without incident. Wrong. Taking from back in my younger, wilder days I can personally attest to the similarities. I've never drove drunk or stoned before, but I have been unable to drive because of both. I'd venture to say the herb impaired me more than the booze has ever done, Lynn is right. It might not have that effect on you or your 420 buds, but it does on some people. And any kind of impaired driving is dangerous anyway.

Um, this sort of thing happens here ALL THE TIME, people have little conversations here and there in the middle of threads. I believe I had posted to Deb, not you, and I wasn't aware you were a moderator here now?

And before anyone comes in with more hand-slapping because of the "nature" of the thread, yeah I know it's tragic. My career for the last 15 years is taking care of kids and babies who have had things happen to them that are more horrific than you can possibly imagine. So go lecture someone else, thank you.

I am saying that it is a documented fact that smoking excessive amounts of weed does not impair the abilities of a driver anywhere near the way drinking excessive amounts of alcohol does. If you don't believe that, then feel free to go argue with the researchers and scientists if you don't believe them.

That is one study and I never said that alcohol could not be more of an impairment but you are saying you can get high and drive no problem, blanket statement. There are other disputable studies. NO WAY is that true. That guy may not have ended up passed out but he may have been impaired enough to hit something if his reaction time was affected. If it affects brain chemistry, it affects your judgement and reaction time. That is IMPAIRMENT. You do NOT have to be fall down drunk to be impaired either. One person can be impaired at a .05 and another with .08 with alcohol. You can not speak for everyone's brains. I never trust studies like that anyway. Many are biased and who knows who is even backing them.

Cheech drove once while being high and he hit a tree or light post (sorry Im too high to remember)...... So you can get in an accident when youre high.
The best part was though when the cop asked him for his license ,to which he replied :
