Hmm ProgRocker, Im stuggling to understand. There are three things that ALL MEN should only do behind a closed curtain .
1) Pick your nose
2) Masturbate
3) VOTE

No girl should realise what you do behind that closed curtain. And you should lie about it . I mean walk up to the girl and say, "Hi I'm me , nice to meet you. By the way I dont pick my nose, I dont jerk , and who do you want to vote for- cause I love that dude too!" It aint rocket science

Have six kids with the women- than you can get a little honest, but in till then just make the shit up!!!!!!

Now, to Obama's credit, he never made race an issue throughout his campaign. Unfortunately, none of us can control what the media talks about, ad nauseum. I believe Obama has the potential to be a great president (and don't confuse that with me saying he will be a great president). The point I'm making is that I never thought W. would be a great president from the first time I heard the guy. I never thought he would be as bad as he turned out to be, but never thought the "potential"" for greatness was there. I believe if Obama governs closer to the center and involves Republicans, he will be well on his way to making the only history that really matters.

It's easy to thrown the term racist around, happens all the time. What, really is a racist?

I have been accused of being one because I think Obama is an incredibly poor choice for president (so far, not accused on this board directly, thank you). I think that because he is the most inexperienced major candidate EVER. He says great things and has inspired a lot of people. Time will tell whether those who voted for him got what they wanted, or just bought into his sales pitch.

EVERYONE who casts a ballot is buying someone's "sales pitch". I suspect that if someone were to go back in history and compare the promises that every president made during his campaign, that not 10% of those promises were ever kept! Politicians are full of shit. They always have been. They always will be. Accept it and move on!

THis scares me even more, I agree with much of what you have said.

I am concerned, however, that people will assume that because Obama has been elected, the race issues in our country have been solved. They have not, from many different perspectives. White v black, black v white, black v Hispanic, Hispanic v white, the list goes on.

I believe that institutional racism has mostly been solved. The wrongs of the past will continue to haunt us for some time to come. Individual racism will always be there because until you change the heart, you won't change the man.

Holy fuck. Obama must already be galvanizing us, because I now agree with someone else I never agree with  Superb point that racial issues in our country aren't magically solved because a black man has been elected president. I certainly don't believe that and I honestly don't believe that many people believe that. I have seen disgusting racism alive and well in this country and I agree with you that it will never really go away. I think we have certainly made a ton of progress but as you said, "you won't change the man" or some of the very ignorant beliefs.

And don't get me wrong, I agree with him too, to a point. But I think they need their moment. It has been what, one day, to be happy for the "first" and then yes, they should move on. And I agree, it's the media who always perpetuates this crap. I don't want to see Jesse Jackson talking about it on every news station either, only because I really can't stand him personally. Not because he's black, I just can't stand him. So I do understand where Dan is coming from. It was the part where he made it seem like racism was in the past that I had more of a problem with. That they want to keep bringing up old wounds. It still does exist. But both sides are guilty of that. There are extremists on both sides when it comes to race and I think that is what the news media brings us and yes it does get annoying. So I get it, but I think we should get a moment to say "Yay" and how great it is that we can have a country that could see beyond color this election.

LOL, great post G&T.

Prog, as for the women, fuck 'em literally and figuratively. It's one thing to be with a girl of the other party, but these girls sound like extreme liberals. That can't work, even if you're moderately conservative. Not to stereotype, but extremely liberal young women tend to be very vocal about their views and very "in-your-face" about them. Saw a buddy of mine go through that last year, and he was a pretty conservative guy. It just gets so annoying. The girl would talk politics during foreplay. Guess my buddy sucks in the sack.

I believe a majority of Black Americans think of Barrack Obama as a Savior to/for the Black people. They think he will/can save them from all their problems and make everything better for them. When the time comes, when he has been in office long enough. And, when they find out he is unable to do all the things they want him to do, to make American a better place for Blacks, THEN they will start blaming the white people. they will say we arent allowing him to do the job he needs to do. And that we are holding him back for racist (black) reasons. That we are the cause of their oppression.

Thats what I said the first time, I just worded it differently this time.

Bill Cosby, doesn't live check to check and doesn't have to worry about being the last one hired or the first one fired; He can say whatever he think will get him attention at the moment, Mr Cosby is the exception to the rule in the black American community; however, the average black American just as the average white American must struggle every day to get to a comfortable level in life this is the common factor that we all share, where this common factor starts breaking down is a solid foundation rooted by a solid education and access to available resources to allow the individual to become self sufficent. Not a handout; but sometimes a handup is all that is needed. Because believe it or not Most black people don't want White people to fix anything for us; we are capable of fixing our own problems with a handup not a handout. That starts with education, adequate health, jobs, proper housing (being able to live where ever) without being priced out to keep out (we know it still happens, this is the real world you know) It seem odd that black Americans or still being excluded by the system while at the same time some white Americans continue to speak about black people as if we don't want to be better and do better. Given a chance to do so in the mainstream level is what i'm speaking of, our people in the sports and entertainment level or not the same as our people on the mainstream level, not every black american can dance ,sing, act, shoot or run a ball and become wealthy; we have to depend on our ability to work at a regular job like everyone else. ( Oh! by the way the media fed thug life image, does not represent the average black american, we hate that crap as much as the next american does. it's fake and totally phony).

Only looking forward now....

Here are my hopes for Obama:

1. That he doesn't have to pay back everyone and their dog for favors, contributions, fear factor, racial relations....(ie. Oprah)

2. That he will take advice and not listen to a few select like Bush did; I think he was totally misguided and trusted way too much
in a select few.
