I partied with him at a bar called Bottom's Up in a suburb of Chicago many, many years ago. I think he was there promoting his radio show...can't remember. Anyway, he pulled up in a convertible Corvette and the floor was littered with empty cigarette packs. Anyway, the dude was a hoot and a lot of fun. He seemed like a really nice guy.
I remember stories of the staff on the show letting him spend the night with them because if he went home, he would get the daylights beat out of him again. He was abused as a child. They knew it, but no one did much about it. I hope he can get straightened out. But child stars seldom come out O.K. It is not a life for a child, especially if their parents are messed up to start.

And, his father was a Hollywood writer or director...why no one did anything about it is strange. I remember Danny's sister even being an editor for the teen mags then - was it just DB getting beaten?
Yes it is terrible to have been treated so badly by a parent...I think most 'stage parents' are nutso...and, too many of those Hollywood kid actors are messed up as adults.
BTW, I recently read David Cassidy's autobio and it was a great read! Surprising that he was a "bad boy" and not all the bubble gum image, but still apparently a really nice guy.
