The power of googling 'Journey'...
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I'm a Newbie who only found the site a few weeks ago, and have been spending waaay too much time enjoying the posts ever since!

After my brother told me about Arnel and the new cd, it sparked my interest in finding out why Steve Perry had left Journey in the first place. After a few searches, I Googled Herbie Herbert and found Andrew's interview - whoa!

Thanks guys - I've always loved the classic Journey lineup, but stopped listening when Steve Perry left. I missed out on a lot of great music, including Neal Schon's solo work, but I'm making up for lost time.

I was writing a paper on Al Gore, and discovered that among other things...he invented Melodicrock.com. I was actually impressed and came in here to find another reason to call him a dumb-ass....MAN did I find what I was looking for!

Nah, I just googled Journey forum and stumbled on this place. I remember when I was lurking on this place thinking "who the fuck is this Deano guy, and who does he think he is calling people fucktards???". Pretty funny, and I decided to stick around!

Found through googling Journey. I lurked and lurked for quite a while, but never thought about joining. One night I
e-mailed Andrew to complain about something, thinking he would never respond. Who was I to e-mail and complain? I didn't even belong to MR. I was shocked when Andrew was nice enough to actually e-mail me back and explain his position and invited me to join.

Frequently came across AP supporters "chatting" about a certain "wech of MR" on some Zoo YT clips weeks before Revelation's US release.

I've heard about the quoting of contructive MR feedback, but have never looked them up. I understand people quoted both Saint John and myself a lot... really should check them out sometime.

I'd lurked MR for over 10 years, and got interested in the message board after hearing that Steve A. had left and the tour was being finished with JSS, so I came here to find out what had happened. Found some thread I got interested in and created an account and started posting. Been a snowball of activity ever since... :)

Busted. Correction: I found MR to be like my perception of what a jr. high boy's locker room would sound like.

In a former life, I was a jr. high assistant principal and spent more than half of my time dealing with crap that all seemed to originate from smack talk in boys' (and girls') locker rooms. Oh, and I have three sons who played football and tennis and ran track.

I like Rhiannon's answer.
I had heard about it through Journey's forum, Back Talk not long after I rediscovered Journey...I was "appalled" and sent a note to Andrew...lol. (shhh...I did laugh at a few things & was intrigued by the open-ness). I came back after someone invited me while on a SP forum (at tapegate time)...now, MR is the only forum I am on.

I found it pretty hostile at first. Then it just got moreso.
;)

I think I found out when I read the 'journey weirdness' post on Google newsgroups that dealt with Journey using tapes. That was the first I'd seen of it. I'd read Melodic Rock forever, but hadn't found the group till then.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Did you have an unusually high return rate on the number of young men sent to your office for spankings?

Holy HELL is that some funny ass shit! I laughed for like 5 min. Typical Rhi, lmao.

I think there was a link on Back Talk in '06 where I was just reading along since I was going to my first concert that year. I had no idea about this place and didn't even know the 2 boards hated each other. So I saw a post on that site saying how they wanted to make peace with this board and all that shit and I'm like what the hell? So I read this board a few weeks then joined. I didn't know who Deano was at the time and Deano got the best of me one night and I was like the hell with that.. so I went on a tirade out of fun when I realized not to take it too seriously and figured out how people operated here. I had a talk with Andrew through e-mail and vowed to apologize to him.

Ever since then I made some wonderful friends and partied hard with the best of them. Hopefully many more to meet. 8)
