OT: What are your skills and hobbies?

Postby Voyager » Sat Nov 15, 2008 3:24 am

As a way to get to know each other better, I thought it would be nice to hear about what everyone's skills and hobbies are. What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Also, what would you like to learn to do?

Driving, doing random adventurous things, going out to bars, singing Karaoke, drinking with my friends at 7h shows, voluntarily being DD everywhere I go, playing Rock Band, cooking yummy food, being independent, drinking venti white mochas, graphic design, critiquing music for buddies, random road trips, crocheting, going to Lake Michigan when it's cold, riding the L, taking pictures of the city lights, being overly nostalgic, mocking the Chicago accent, saying "buggy" instead of "cart" to piss people off, ordering a hotdog at SuperDawg and making them put ketchup on it (they'll refuse everytime, and give it to you on the side), interwebs surfing, dancing in the car like no one can see me, giggling to the point of hiccups, praying for a harsh winter full of snow, taming wild animals (some men included), nagging, bluntness, painting, writing, making messes, doing laundry, arguing with fence posts, roller coasters, being an over-all hick-in-the-city/fit-right-in-too, your face, burping, make-up, shoes, most importantly is time with all the wonderful people in my life that I'd eagerly trade all the above to have more moments with them.

My Interests: doing Triathlon & bicycle racing; seeing opera and visiting opera houses; listenting to hair metal, aor , classic rock; ancient Greek literature and history, pretending I understand politics, cooking, cutting the cheese. Please note, the final two things on this list are not in any way synonomous. :D and my admirers say I do exhibit some skill at the last interest.

Web design, graphic design, marketing, working on computers and servers, playing guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, recording music in my studio, playing in bands, roller skating, boating, talking about Journey and other great MR bands, driving fast convertibles (Trans Ams, Corvettes), being a husband and dad, sitting in my back yard watching the ducks and geese on the lake, bowling, going to Wisconsin Dells on the weekends, visiting Los Angeles, taking road trips in my Escalade, going to see bands in local clubs, laughing at people singing karaoke, partying with friends, photochopping rock stars in humorous ways, talking politics, mocking religion, working out, and going to every good rock concert I can.

Hot dog, schmot dog. It's all in where you're from. The dogs here are good, but I miss the old cheap pink dogs a la Martinsville Speedway. YUM!

I do it just so they'll look at me like I need a helmet. :P

Haha, I think we just had this thread a few weeks ago.

My skills: I'm an all-conference collegiate tennis player, played all my life. Played #1 singles/doubles all four years heading into my last season coming up here. Also ranked #1 in the nation in Open Mother/Son mixed doubles :D. I write well/have always done well in school with not too much effort if that's a "skill."

My hobbies: Guitar, (background) singing, little bit of keyboards, dabble in recording music, play in a four-piece power pop band up here, living or dying by Cleveland sports (I've got more lives than 100 cats), boozin, cruisin n' condom reusin'

As for my skills...I'm able to polish off Fig Newtons by the sleeve in under 37 seconds. I usually win most profanity constests that I enter. As for my hobbies...Football, football, and football. I also enjoy telling Tito what a douche he is. Every now and again I say hello to the wife and take her out for a five star dinner to our local McDonald's
