Wasn't that caused by Grey's Anatomy? The network was so embarassed about using the word "Vagina" more than once an episode that they insisted using another name.

Kinda silly.

Frank...

Go with the Blackberry. I know sooooo many people who have one who swear by these things. Aside from the one or two negative comments here, I've honestly never heard a single bad thing about them. As for as the iPhone goes...I guess I'm just too old to find it "cool" that cell phones have morphed into mp3 players or vice versa. I have an iPod and think it's a great device (although not nearly as revolutionary as those at Apple want everyone to believe). That said, I don't need my phone to do what my iPod does, but that's just my two cents. I'm also someone who would never take pictures with my cell phone because they all look like shit.

Which is Regina, right?

For the record, the word isn't an issue for me because of some hangup or embarrassment. I'm not easily embarrassed. It's just an AWFUL sounding word for something I find so, um....so....um....Well, you know

Personally, I hate the fact that the iphone doesn't have a querty keyboard....but the open architecture (those of you that have verizon with phones that have 3/4 of the functionality turned off by verizon know what I'm talking about) is something that's a plus.

I have an AT&T Tilt (which is the same as an HTC 8925/TyTn II -- http://www.htc.com/us/product.aspx?id=10896) and it has a slide out qwerty keyboard. Since the keyboard slides out, an on-screen keyboard doesn't take up half the viewing space (screen is a nice size -- about 1 11/16" x 2 5/16"), although you can choose to use the on-screen keyboard.

My Internet cost is $30 (unlimited, w/o texting - I hardly ever use text anyway), and I get a corporate discount, too.

What I like about it is that there are always 2 or 3 ways to navigate around the device, by using the keyboard, touch screen, or front/side controls. I can easily customize it since it is a PocketPC. With the help of a xda-developers forum, I learned how to get rid of the AT&T bloatware that is loaded on it and tweak it to my specifications. I believe that the device will accomodate up to a 32GB microSD card (although I believe they've only just came out with 16GB size). Works on the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating sytem, has a 3MP camera and built-in GPS receiver.

You might be able to get a really good deal on it from AT&T with a 2-year contract, since I've read that it's most likely going to be replaced by the HTC Fuse next year. They may be looking to get rid of some of their stock. I got mine for free with my company's discount. :D

EDIT: Since this is a main issue for you, Frank, and we both live in NY... My connection always seems consistent and with the 3G, my internet connectivity is much faster, and when there is no GPRS/3G signal, it automatically switches to Edge. I practically never loose a signal now, where I always lost my signal in the Battery Tunnel. Now, it just switches to Edge and I'm good to go! I've been with AT&T since before Cingular taking them over. Their service, for me, seems so much better now and the rollover minutes can be a nice plus, if you find yourself going over your minutes every so often.

+1!!

AT&T Tilt running WM 6.1, and SIM unlocked here in Seattle area. Love the phone! Never have had a dropped call on AT&T. I even get 3G at my house - 35 miles outside of Seattle proper.

And as for bluetooth being disabled by Verizon - that is why I dropped them like a bad habit 4 years ago. That is bullshit - only bluetooth allowed is the headset/handsfree. Bullshit!

With my phone I can connect via bluetooth to my computers @ work and home, my wife's unlocked Sony Ericsson W710i, her Garmin Ique M5, to send her contacts, appointments, ringtones[self made ringtones], and I can even use STEREO bluetooth headphones!

I am thinking about getting an unlocked MWg Zinc II, or a Sony Experia 1a[USA 3G versiion] when it is finally out.

Unlocked phones are great if you travel overseas alot. You can buy a prepaid local SIM card and save on the international charges just by dropping a new SIM card in your phone.

I'm impressed that you knew that! I had coworkers when I lived in the US who used to giggle every time I mentioned my friend who lived there. In revenge, I got them a bunch of "I love Regina" T-Shirts.

Fair enough. For me, it doesn't really sound any different than "finger" or "knee cap".

It's not like it's all that unusual to have one.

The G1 has Adobe Flash 10 developed, users haven't been updated but it will happen. Try that on the iPhone. :)

Here's the G1 demo with flash. You may have to log in to see the clip

I seldomly ever use Bluetooth, because I keep forgetting to charge the damned headset. I think we can use up to six BT connections, is that right, Brigadier? Oh, and let's not forget that his device also has WiFi.

I've been a PocketPC user for about 6 years now (started out on the Siemens SX56) and this is my 3rd PPC device. I have to keep track of everything for my family, so having a device that I can load just about anything and everything on is the best for me: the Web/email/weather, calendar/contacts (can also display photo of caller but I haven't set that up yet), various documents/spreadsheets/presentations, navigation, camera/video, MP3s (also will play other formats), and games (which I never play anyway). This device fits me perfectly!

Still learning this thing (upgraded the camera already, but still figuring out what it does) and will probably be forever customizing it as I learn more about it. BTW, Brigadier, have any tips/tricks/sites that you wish to share with me about this device? I just got it about 2 mos. ago, so I'm still new to it. :D
