Short, but interesting clip from the WOF

Does Steve say "I just heard I got out of the band"? I have a hard time hearing exactly what he says. It sounded interesting though.

Man, Deen looked pretty bad in the background...really pasty look. And I still have to laugh at Schon's attire. He must have been moonlighting as a fuckin' construction worker or something.

Ah ok. Thanks, Rick. So he must have been talking about Soul Sirkus.

He's probably seen some of the names on some of those Stars and realised it wasn't a big deal. No need to breakout his Sunday clothes.

Gotta give Augeri some cred for rockin' the white suit. Almost like he knew if Perry showed, it'd be in black. Augeri's the coolest.

It's been documented that Deen was going through some shit back then. I "think" it was drugs or drinking. But something took a toll on his health, he got rail thin. Now he is all healthy, all buffed out and shit. I think the new caveman hair piece is working too.

Love Steve Smith's hep cat look!
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Knowing Perry, the "other band" he was talking about was probably Journey with Augeri!

nah, nah, i think he always says thing to appear as if he is not in the know about things when he knows exactly what is going on. of course it sounds better to say...i heard he started another band, when he knows exactly what has already happened. it's a great conversation started.

He knows he's talking about Soul Sirkus, Perry knows everything. He even knew who the lead singer was the week Jeff was fired and he was spotted in Myrtle Beach discussing it.

I believe that. I also believe he still has friends in the Journey camp both from a management standpoint as well as the crew. Never underestimate his sneakiness. That's a movie quote, btw.

Get with the times - heros wear white, anti-heros wear black; just means Perry is complex and conflicted

Perry was by far the best dressed that day. Augeri looks like he should be driving a fuckin' ice cream truck. And if it were to break down Neal was dressed to fix it.

Not at all. That's what makes Neal great and a common man. He isn't in to this elite black tie bullshit. He dresses the same way whether he's touring, hanging out, or at an event. Neal is the real deal, not complex, very meat and potatoes.

Classic flippant, could give a rat's ass Neal.
He could look like a real deal rockstar in a diaper and rubber booties he's so cool.

Or he could be saying "Steve I'm done wearing your suitcoats and thin Louie Louie ties of the ROR era."
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001
"I looked at Neal, and I just saw a guy who really wants his band back"-JCain 2/01

Yeah but I don't think he should be commended for that in this case - I like to be comfortable too - who doesn't - but when the occassion calls for it, I dress appropriately. A star on the Walk of Fame - we're talking ONCE in a lifetime deal, and its not as if just anyone can have one... show a millimeter of class and put on a friggin' jacket and a halfway decent shirt. He looked like he pulled it out of a pile, sniffed it and went "Meh, I can get one more day out of it, but honey get me a tide stick, I got mustard on here." You do that when you're running out to fill up your car and grab a latte on a Sunday morning, not when you're being given a god damned hollywood star.

Even a tshirt would have been better, can't stand those plaid or lumberjack looking shirts.
